Did Anyone Have Fun With Their Field Service Reports?
by NotFormer innow that there is new light on reporting hours in field service, it's raised a few questions for me, who was never in the jws.
did any of you ever have fun with the field service report slips, by finding creative ways of reporting time without raising suspicions in those who oversaw the collection of those slips?.
also, can anyone upload an image of what the slips looked like, or point me to a post that gives uploaded examples of the sort of paperwork that was familiar to jws in good standing?.

"the amount of back & forth giggling & laughter there is between the Watchtower GB speakers & the audience"
I'd rather see that they are real people than they are hardliners. No need to criticize for this.

"It should be scriptural because they always warn against "going beyond what is written"."
I think they mean going beyond what they've written.

List of main points from 2023 AGM
by ExBethelitenowPIMA in1. doctrinal changes how new light comes about.
the gb raise questions then talk about it, unless it’s unanimous they wait, then years later talk again if it’s unanimous it then gets announced as new light.. 2. the gb are imperfect and sometimes make mistakes.
they are not to apologise or even admit they were wrong.

"When Jesus was resurrected, there were witnesses."
Because there needed to be otherwise Christian would have died at that point and there would be no reason to grow. The resurrection was a reason for the faith.
"When the anointed are resurrected, everyone will know because there will be witnesses. "
Where do you get that from?
When Jesus was resurrected, he was a spirit but took on bodies for a reason. To teach and encourage the apostle. But when the anointed are resurrected to heaven as spirit beings, they don't need to do any of that. The kingdom is already established, and Jesus is already king. They have nothing to prove to the people on earth.

I'm watching it now and the first thing I noticed was Ken Cook introduced a musical prelude. At the start of the conventions they would always introduce a musical interlude. I once told a CO about that and he had to look up the word in a dictionary. Maybe that suggest went all the way up.
Back in the 80s when I came in, the Governing Body had the awe about them. They were their positions since the 1920s. They had history. The ones now a days have no history.
Bro Winder is not correct when he says the governing body is not inspired. Yes, they are inspired by God. Inspired means where did the idea come from. The idea for their writings comes from God the same as with Paul. People think that being inspired means to have God directly give the information to do them. It does not.
He said the brothers are looking for a unanimous decision. Not that it is a rule.
Then David Splane - Was not changing doctrine. He was not getting dogmatic with specifics.

Thought on “0 hours” reporting
by FFGhost inso everyone knows the “big news” of this past weekend, no more reporting of hours, placements, return visits, etc.
beginning november 1, jws just tick a box indicating whether they “shared in any form of the ministry during the month”.. so there was a brief comment by a redditor that seems like a brief joke “throwaway comment” but after thinking about it….why not?.
the idea is, what is “any form of the ministry”?

" I seem to remember in Ray Franz's CoC he mentioned there had to be a "two thirds majority"."
What does the constitution say about that?
Doesn't the organization have a constitution?

"remove the time reporting because it's unsustainable & unscriptual."
Why does it need to be scriptural?
Paul set up congregational activities. Some because of Israel's past, such as marry only in the Lord. And elders and servants were set after Israel had tribes and the tribes had families and the families had household. So the family heads were considered elders or older men of Israel.
But Paul also set activities because they needed to be done, not because they were scriptural. He set new things. 1 Cor 16:2 he told them "On the first day of every week, each of you should set something aside according to his own means, so that collections will not take place when I arrive."
That is not scriptural. That was new. Why is there no one criticizing him because that was not scriptural.
The counting and reporting of time was against what Jesus taught about not letting the left hand know what the right hand was doing, and not parading what one had done. It was more contradictory to what Jesus had taught.

Why are you all talking about who will be resurrected and who will live through Armageddon?
No one knows. But first the end will have to come and so far it hasn't.
And as for resurrection, does it really matter? It has been stated that Adam and Eve won't be resurrected. Who cares? If they were, it would be a man and a woman. What would people do, interrogate them? Torture them? Be angry at them? What information would we get from them?
Then the faithful ones would be paraded around in a rock star stadium tour to give their experiences. But we've already analyzed their lives so much that would there be anything new?
As for the resurrection to heaven. We know that only 144,000 have been set to have been anointed and all of them have been anointed. Since the mid 90s no new ones have been anointed. Around 1918 the ones who have died before then were resurrected, and since that time the anointed who died have been raised up. It is known.

"The fact that the Great Tribulation is no longer the cutoff on whether you can make it through Armageddon. Now people can become JWs or even repent well into the Great Tribulation."
Speculation about prophesy is always difficult. I wouldn't hold anything to this or any prior teachings about this subject. Some people believe that to survive armageddon, one must be a baptized active Witness, or progressing towards that. But yet armageddon has not come yet. I know of ones who were baptized in 1958 assembly but have died so all of their efforts didn't get anyone or themselves through armageddon.

"I don't think the first century Christian congregation needed lawyers and accountants."
Yes, they did. They had Saul who became Paul. He was a lawyer.
