  we all know the jw view of abortion before leaving but what about now?

  I used to secretly cheer when I heard that women had gained more rights concerning abortions. I now don't have to do it secretly. I don't take the subject lightly but I do believe that it is the choice of the woman.

  At what point does the fetus have "LIFE"?

  I understand if you hesitate to comment on this issue. It is a discussion that could be inflamitory. People can be very judgemental on this subject. But from what I've seen so far, this group can handle it.

  Do You Still Believe a God Cares for You?

  i've been a part of this forum for about one month, and during that time i've been struck by the willingness of many so former jehovah witnesses either to ridicule the bible, or to stand by while it's being ridiculed.

  so, i'm wondering how many of them while witnesses suffered through experiences so searing that they no longer believe in the god of the old testament.. who among you still believe that underneath the layers of contradictions, inconsistencies, and errors in the bible there may be found the words of a god who created the universe, and who also cares about you, personally?.

  Not a God but a goddess cares for me. The Goddess Xena. I kneel before her every night. I give her oral tribute. She takes me into her wings and comforts me. I worship on her sacred mounds. I could go on but I think you get the idea.

  An intangible god who lives everywhere who watches and decides when he wants to help? No way!

  I did read that thread but it was talking more about the body features. I am talking more about the attitude and image. Also, that thread had the feeling of what kind of person would you like to be with on a more permenant basis. I just want to know what really turns women on.

  Sorry ladies. This subject does not exactly lend it self to the bi side. Or does it??

Or the pretty boy with a sense of humor. Now I'm not talking about the kind of guy that they would like to settle down with. I mean the kind of guy that makes their heart rate speed up when he walks into the room.

  I value your thoughts. But keep in mind that you don't actually have to have a hard and fast set of rules to be under the influence of a cult. That's the real nature of a cult. People keep an eye on each other. When I was coming up, no "good" witness would be caught with a Judas Priest album. Were there any specific rules that said that you could not listen to Judas Priest? No. The effect is the same though because of the peer pressure and the need to be in God's favor and the Organizations favor. I personally felt a lot of pain for doing what I thought was the right thing when I shunned my brother. Probably not as much pain as him, but I do remember I cried a lot which is not normal for an 18 yr old boy. The best thing we can do with these people is feel pity and try to open their minds to the rest of the world.

  I commend and admire you for the way that you handled the situation. You did not lash out on your sister personally. You became the better person. This stratagy could eventually soften your sister. I know that right now getting your sister out of the Borg may not be your first priority because of the pain she has caused you. But just imagine the difference in her personality if she was not a witness. The need to feel hatred for anyone who is different is something that we were taught as witnesses. It is hard to shake that mentality especially when we go to another religion that thinks that they have all the answers.
  I am not saying that some do not step over the line and do more hurtful things than what the Society teaches. Those people should be viewed as the scum that they are. Just like the coulple that beat their 12 yr old to death.
  I hope that one day you and your sister can look back on this experience and laugh.

  I think a lot of people forget what it was like to be a JW and the true lack of control that you have. I myself shunned my brother. I hated it but I did it because I was taught that this is what I am supposed to do not only for the good of the organization but for the good of my brother. Remember? They teach that the discipline is not pleasant but it is best for them in the long run.

  If we condemn the individual actions of the members following the direction of the Borg, then we have to condemn almost everyone who posts on this web site as selfish, hurtful, unloving, and stupid. I for one, don't think that of very many people here.

  I love your reasoning on the children killed by Herod. I would think that any historian living at the time would have at least mentioned it.
  I would also think that God himself would want some corraborating evidence out there. How hard would it be for God to MAKE Joesephus write about Jesus in a comprehensive but objective way? For someone omnipotent it should have been a piece of cake. But then that's where faith comes in, right?

  The Apostate Version of "Little Red Ridin...

  the apostate version of "little red riding hood" by a horny apostate wolf.... once upon a time, near the edge of the watchtower farm, lived a young sister and her witness mother.. one day the mother made a beautiful hood for the young sister out of a piece of lovely red silk, and the young sister wore the red hood whenever she went door to door.. she was soon known by everyone in the local congregation as "little red riding sister.".

  little red riding sisters worldly grandma lived at a nearby community, all by herself.. one time when little red riding sisters mother had baked some lovely cookies, little red riding sister asked her mother if she might take some to grandma and use this as an opportunity to witness to her.. mamma put the little red bonnet on the young sisters head and filled the basket with fresh cookies and watch towers and awakes.. little red riding sister skipped through her neighborhood toward her grandmother's house.

  she stopped at a nearby internet cafe to find an online card to send her grandma, as she knew grandma spent all day playing on her computer.. many beautiful websites flitted across her path in her search for an e-card and little red riding sister went investigating them.. she did not try to find any un-theocratic sites, though, for that would have displeased her local body of elders, and they could be very mean when they were upset.. there were so many sites though to choose from and she just needed a little advice on where to find a cool card for grandma and she decided to try jehovah-witness.com expecting to see helpful brothers and sisters with good ideas for e-cards.. instead, a apostate wolf quickly answered her post and began to talk to her.. "where are you going, little red riding sister?
