Sheila,
Please don't play the "Do you have children?" card. That implies that I somehow value life differently. As a matter of fact I do have a beautiful 8 year old daughter. Guess what. My daughter would not be online and on the phone chatting with some one I didn't know.
but the conversations I am sure were disgusting enough.
How do you know? Are you going to take the word of Donald Foster as gospel? You know, the same guy who said that after this weak case "There is no doubt that the arrest of this individual has prevented him from any future contact with minors," Yeah, I trust him, don't you? We will never have to worry about this guy ever again. LOL yeah right.
Nothing personal but this is exactly the point I'm making. As soon as the police point their finger and yell pedophile everyone grabs their torch and gathers to kill the monster. When will people start asking questions?

I do hate to play devil's advocate for anyone who might actually be a predator but didn't this article say that the detectives tried to set up the meeting and the man declined saying he didn't want to jeopardize his life over a cute boy? According to the report, the guy stopped short of committing a crime. In fact, I think it should be a crime for a police officer to actively solicit illegal behavior. They didn't find anything in his apartment. They didn't find any evidence of wrongdoing on his person so just where is the crime?
Child abuse is not a subject to be taken lightly but then neither is our liberty. No wonder we fear the cops.
Just imagine all the ways a cop could solicit illegal behavior from you.
Suppose he's holding the newspaper rack open as you approach and tells you to take one.
Maybe he's waiting behind a sign on a lonely stretch of highway where you know it's safe to drive over the posted speed limit.
They wouldn't do that would they???????

Ok JT,
Just talking about me as if I'm not even there, huh? Very mature. Judging from the amount of posts you have and the comments you made about my post I can only conclude you spend way to much time posting and not enough THINKING.
Yes I did say drug ABUSE is bad. Just how do you define drug abuse? Do you let the legislators tell you what common sense you should have? Or do you think for yourself? Have you ever taken an aspirin? Have you ever had a cup of coffee to "perk" you up. Have you ever had a drink to calm down? Have you ever rode a roller coaster to feel excited? Have you ever had sex to feel .....euphoria? These are all things we do to alter our mental states. At what point does it change from recreation to abuse? Viagra is advertized behind home plate (perfect place) in the world series and guess what? It's a recreational drug. Oh sure, you could argue that it's taken to overcome a medical problem.........~snickers~ Yeah Right. You see, our society has decided to turn over it's ability to think and decide for themselves to a bunch of hypocrites. I for one have lived that with the JWs and have now decided that I have the abilty to think for myself.
so how do you say that something is bad behavoir without making a judgement call
I'd hate for you to strain yourself James so let me help you with this one. First you weigh all the information available to you and you think. Then you decide if a certain behavior is going to be beneficial or harmful to your life. When you think something is bad for you then stay away from it. Now here's where you might have to take a deep breath, close your mouth and use that muscle behind your eyes. Just because you've decided that it's bad for YOU does not mean that you should have the right to make that decision for others.Let me know if you're still lost....................We'll send out a search party.

The hypocrisy of Rush is evident but I don't want him to spend a day in jail. I'd like to talk to him on air about the idea of personal freedom. The freedom to choose drugs for ourselves as recreation or to self medicate. Let's have a nationwide discussion about the real issue. You watch, though. This is not good for any one. I can almost guarantee that this situation will inevitably lead to another drug law. There will be a loophole for poor poor Rush and every other "drug user" that gets caught will do time. This discussion should never end, as far as I'm concerned, 'til all the people in prison for drug crimes are released.
Drug abuse is bad. Drug abuse is bad for our society. It's not our job to judge anyone who chooses to use drugs in their own home. Whether it's acohol or aspirin, claritin or cocaine, espresso or ecstasy, cigarrettes or valium the choice belongs to the individual. We can suffer the concequences of some one else's bad decisions or let some one else decide the consequences of our decisions. It's the people that bury their heads in some moral ground that are turning our society upside down with the "good" people walking free and the "bad" people in prison.
Hypocrisy is the homage vice pays to virtue.--La Rochefoucauld

1999 Kingdom Melody # 69
I was dreamin' when I wrote this
Forgive me if it goes astray
But when I woke up this mornin'
Coulda sworn it was judgment day
The sky was all purple,
there were people runnin' everywhere
Tryin' 2 run from the destruction,
U know I didn't even care'Cuz they say two thousand zero zero party over,
oops out of time
So tonight I'm gonna preach like it's 1999
Mommy, why does everybody have a bible?

Gordon Lightfoot
by RAYZORBLADE inok, if you're a canuck, chances you know that gordon lightfoot is about right up there with ol' jehover!.
but if not, nevermind, but i have to admit, i have been a lifelong fan of: gordon lightfoot.. this evening, i took his 'greatest hits' and gave it a listen, and as expected, i was still enthralled with his lyrical genius, and playing abilities.. anyone a gordon lightfoot fan?.
just curious.. all your folks living along north america's "great lakes" keep in mind, next month is the 28th anniversary of the sinking of the "edmund fitzgerald".. that song, by gordon lightfoot is haunting from beginning to end (over 6 minutes).. i personally love: go-go girl in love, bitter green, canadian railway trilogy, sundown, race among the ruins, wreck of the edmund fitzgerald, and well i like just about every damn thing he ever did.. your contributions?
