I don't know how I left out the Sex. It's just too obvious. I remember giving a Sunday talk about Marraige. I had a section in there about Sex. Boy would I like to have that talk again! I can see it now.....Ears, Eyes and Mouths wide open. LOL
Sex is quantum leaps ahead of where it was when I was a witness. Just the other day I thought I was going to have a heart attack and I remember thinking "what a way to go!"

There are so many things I do now that I couldn't do then. Like the "R" movies. I feel like such a bad boy. [;0] Now I can go to clubs and drink, listen to a live band and DANCE. Woooo Hoooo!!!

Mine is flag football. I never was "allowed" to play any kind of organized sports (being an elder's son). It is a great way to get out aggression!

I have to admit being a little nervous every time I take one of these tests. I mean my celebrity match was Drew Barrymore. But when I saw the results of this test, I said: "Not again!" I hear this stuff every day. Women tell me this so often I'm getting kind of tired of it. Why can't women just like me for me? They are always just going on and on about my sexual prowess. Geeeeeeez!

As an always have been 'worldly' person -------i am somewhat offended------- by some comments made here.
Ok let's see. You were offended by our innocent remarks. Next, do we expect you to say something nice and constructive. No. After you have just stated that you were offended we expect that you are about to retaliate. Guess what? We were not disappointed.
I'm not trying to belittle anything anyone has been through --------but----- EVERYONE, in my experience, has had some awful thing or other happen to them throughout their life. Maybe a mindset less 'boohoo, i have been screwed over and noone other than a JW could possibly understand my pain' and more of 'I, like many others in the world, have had a uniquely horrifying experience that i will share with those who show interest and possibly educate someone to the horror that can occur due to being a JW to those who might otherwise remain ignorant' would be a better mindset.
Possibly good advice if it was meant as advice. I don't think anyone read it that way. It really sounds like you were saying quit your crying and do something constructive. You don't have anything unique to cry about.
Then you take the high and mighty road.
I have offered homeless friends my home who were shunned by their families for no other reason than that they couldn't be bothered to look after the child they had created. There was no reason to fall back on such as changing religous views. They were simply a nusance for exhisting.Friend upon friend upon friend has shared their tales of physical and mental abuse. Ranging from the odd slap and belittling that are scaring enough, to running away with their baby sister after their cocain adicted mother beat them and logded a stileto heel in their forehead.
One friends brother was hitch hiking with his girlfriend and was picked up by a bunch of kids who then raped his girlfriend and beat him to death with a rock.
Everyone has one of these stories based on their own unique backgrounds.
Feel free to share these stories just don't tell ex-jws that they should get over their experience just because someone else had a bad experience.
It is odd to me that i am looked upon as evil by a group of people i do not know, have never met, and who have not tryed to learn who i am. It's a form of predjudice. Don't bring that with you from the religion. It is just another way to control you and keep you from finding people who will love you for who you truely are.Alot of us are pretty dope. Give us a chance! We're not THAT evil. I only eat babies once a week.
We know better than to take that with us. It is not always a concious choice. THAT is what YOU don't understand. THAT is why maybe you need to sit back and learn from the other posts before opening your mouth about things you don't understand and insulting the very people you come to for support and understanding.
A sincere apology would have been sufficient to soothe the hurt feelings brought on by this "misunderstanding". A sincere apology is NOT followed by the word BUT. It is NOT followed with more insults.
Just try that and take this as friendly advice.

i want to address this question from my humble pov.
I have to respectfully disagree on one of the points that you made.
First of all, I think it behooves us all to remember that the WTBTS, in the grand, cosmic scheme of things is quite minute. It is only because it has touched our lives (usually quite negatively, but not always), that it APPEARS to be the center of the universe. It is not. It’s actually quite a silly little group when you stand back and look at them. Pretend like you were never one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, or touched by them in anyway.
It is not minute to so many of us who have friends and family that we care about who are still in the religion. If it was just myself that was affected then yes, I would just walk away and chalk it up to experience. But if there is anything I can do the save someone else, especially my family, then I will have to fight until I die.
I am grateful that I can get together with others who care also.

Did you actually read my last post? You definitly didn't address my question to you. "Have you ever been to one of their open calls?" I have been. Yes there are a lot of scams out there but evidently you just PARROTTED, from a web site, the 'sour grape' stories of some people who didn't get chosen. If you had any valuable 1st hand knowledge you wouldn't make those claims.
Your warning signs are warning about modeling AGENCIES not a screening service. MSA does not offer any classes. All they do is prescreen and gather people who are interested and possibly have modeling potential. They tell you over and over that they do not guarantee you will get work.

He told us how if we knocked on doors in New York or L.A. , it would cost us thousands of dollars. He said paying for a portfolio and going to modeling schools are rip offs and that MSA would give us the chance to model without all the expenses of getting there.
It sounds to me like you are parroting the crap David fed to you in your post. Parroting is a sign of not thinking. You went thru this as a JW, parrot what was told to you by an authority figure instead of saying things in your own words.]
Again, did you read my last post? Give me an estimate for what it would cost for 2 people to fly to NY & LA and stay for a week in each city while making the open calls for let's say only 10 agencies. If you can find airfare lodging and food for less than $500 then I'll concede. Fair enough. As for a modeling scout, which would you rather do? Go out and walk down the street looking for a potential model or sit at a table one weekend and watch 500 prescreened people who are actually interested in the business?
You sound like one of those people that would tell me. "Oh, you're a JW? I know all about you people. You people don't believe in Jesus." You know an awful lot about something you have never PERSONALLY investigated.
How can you say I got ripped off. Again you didn't read my post. I told you that my daughter found an agency to work with and worked.
I am so happy for you that you didn't have to pay anything. WooHooo!
