  AlanF, Dannybear, misconceptions and humor

  this is the internet, simply put, none of you know anymore about who the other really is or should judge them by the lack of emotional smiley faces in their sentence structure.. first to danny,.

  we have spoken on the phone and exchanged a few emails and i consider you a good friend.

  you are much like alan in many ways and in others very different.

  Aren't you glad Osama Bin Laden doesn't have friends like Dave who support him no matter who he hurts?

  You guys say "Oh now he's just human". I guess you could say that the Governing Body is "Human" too. Because they are "smart" and work hard we should excuse their actions. Good reasoning.

  Dave, I am beginning to lose respect for you even though I don't know you. Anyone who makes excuses for that kind of person will not have my respect. It's obvious Dave that you do care about other people but it seems you care only about the people you have personally gotten drunk with. Anyone can be a great friend if they have a bottle of booze handy. Hard work does not make one a good person. Strength of character is what makes a person gain my respect.

  Anyone else who supports AlanF in his "powerfull" arguements have equal respect.

  Ginger or Mary Anne?

  no doubt one of the most ask questions ever.

  no matter what age you are (in my case fairly young), you've seen gilligan's island, and heard the inevitable argument (especially amoung men), who do you prefer better: ginger or mary anne.. well, i decided to bring the debate here to jw.com, see if there's an (ex) jw consensus on the issue.. my personal favourite is mary anne, by the way.

  they were both very attractive, but mary anne's personalty was more down to earth (or naive) to me, and i find that more desirable.

  If you're gonna do the mud wrestling right you need a referee to make sure there are no illegal holds, biting, licking etc.

  An Internet Apostate

  an internet "apostate" is a person who delights in sowing discord on the internet.

  s/he tries to start arguments and upset people.. apostates see internet communications services as convenient venues for their bizarre game.

  for some reason, they don't "get" that they are hurting real people.

  has leaving the witnesses changed your views on some of the 'rules' or are they the same?

  is the lack of discipline still the reason for teenage violence?.

  Great post Seeker,
  I really enjoyed that. I have also noticed that most doomsday christian religions overemphasize violence. In fact in some cases they embelish.

  Some things as simple as a haircut can still be influenced by our past in the Borg.

  There are some things that we may not have even thought about like watching a movie with demons in it or tattoos and piercings.
  What about eating food that might have blood in it?
  Are any of these things that might still be influenced by the Borg?

  This is the kind of question I would expect from my 6 yr old. Oh well.....you see......a man has a penis......and a woman has a vagina.....a man has sperm that goes into the vagina of the woman.....when the sperm meets the egg that's in the woman they get together and make a baby......OK now who want's some milk and cookies?

  For example? Is the lack of discipline still the reason for teenage violence?
  Is wearing sexy clothes an invitation for rape?
  Is entertainment the reason for the violence we see today?

  does god exist-i always think of khalil gibran's couplet from the prophet; "do not say god is in my heart, but i am in the heart of god.

  " i beleive that people use god to keep themselves in check, and they make the bible their moral register.

  I think we've seen a huge change in the percentage of "believers" in the last 50 yrs. I wish someone had some kind of data on that one. That would be interesting.

  I do agree that there will always be a superstitious kind of belief in god. Will that belief have credibility or influence of society like it does now? I don't think so.
