I can remember telling those who asked that we had gone to a different kingdom hall for that meeting. That one worked really well for the book study. Actually book study was my favorite meeting because we always had food of some kind and we stayed around and talked for an hr or so afterward.

Most Embarrasing Witness Moment from Childhood
by Perfection Seeker inanyone on here have a "most embarrasing witness moment" from childhood?
mine is from 7th grade- that was 20 years ago- but i still cringe when i think of it.
almost too hard to write down- but maybe it will be therapeutic & part of the healing process?

For me one of the worst of times was every day at recess in first second and third grades. I went to a very school. There were only about 25 in each grade. We were almost like family. I stood and watched while my friends would play cowboys and indians. I loved to play cowboys and indians but it was a fighting game and of course a good witness kid wouldn't play that. I "stumbled" a few times and went the rest of the day with a very guilty concience.
Another good one was in 3rd grade when my art teacher convinced me to color a turkey. It was Thanksgiving and I guess I was objecting weakly to the assignment to color a turkey. She told me that my turkey wasn't a Thanksgiving turkey. It was a regular old turkey. That worked for me and I completed the assignment with a clean concience. When my dad found out, he came up to the school and chewed out the art teacher for tricking his boy into compromising his faith. Talk about embarassing. Needless to say, that teacher hated me from then on.

I remember when I was about 10 watching for my mom's dispostition. If she was feeling bad I could say that I had a headache or stomach ache and she would jump at the duty of staying home to take care of the sick kid.

I don't know about the rest of you but gender matters to me. I like to know if I'm flirting with a woman or a man. We all get psychologically involved in other posters problems. When we find out they weren't telling the truth, it can be painful. If someone lies to me I'm gonna be just a little bit pissed. Ok, I know, I can get over that but then can I trust that person? What other posts of his/hers were made in "jest"?? Usually when I'm joking with someone, I let them know right away. If it's carried on for an extended period then you are creating trust issues.
BitterMango:
naeb, syn's whole history here is prolly just one big lie...
SYN:
Bitter Mango: That's one way of putting it, yeah. It wasn't done to throw anyone off, it was done to allow me to get a different perspective on things. Life appears very different from a man's point of view...
Nope, they're all 100% legit, stuff that actually happened to me. Read them again. From a woman's perspective
AL: Ah, the infamous pregnant-Britney double. HEHE. There are only about 3 words there that say whether I'm a boy or a girl. If you read my other posts that are similiar you'll see how carefully I wrote them.
She was hot tho, that I'll admit. Still is.
Sounds to me like it was more of a deception than just clean fun. SYN has been around here long enough to know what happens to your credibility when you LIE. Even if you were "just kidding". Sorry, SYN, I believe you are a guy because it's been confirmed but I'll have a hard time believing any other of your revelations. Nothing personal. Just my opinion.

Where are they now? Past posters ...
by Simon ini've just been looking back over some of the old posts and remembering some of the people we have had on the forum, been friends with and now miss.. one of the down-sides of running a place like this is that it becomes harder and harder to really 'get to know' many of the new ones like it was at first and i'm often working on the system and seeing so many names that they sometimes almost become a blur.
sometimes i see a post by a name i don't recognise and they've already made 100+ or so posts !.
many people are bound to move on eventually (although we're lucky to have a good bunch of 'regulars') and it's unfortunate that some are put off posting by personality clashes (possibly mine!

by JBean ini'm just curious...if you had the opportunity, who on this board would you like to meet if given the chance (or could without getting "in trouble"!)?
(could be serious, could be fun...) i for one, am just sooo curious to meet the cat himself... just to find out if he's much different in person than in his online persona!
...and maybe pet him a few times in the process...
