The Pastor of my Old Church Tried to Re-Convert Me Yesterday
by cofty inyesterday evening my wife and i were invited to friends house for new year's eve.
we met them when i was a christian and we have kept in touch.
they had a few other friends there as well, including the new church pastor and his wife.

He's not uncaring. He's respectful of our choices and he knows he wouldn't be respecting them if he would intervein. In any case, He knows that suffering can be mitigated because of the hope of salvation. it doesn't stop suffering now; but suffering will end eventually.

d) It's not God's business to exempt human beings from suffering that has always existed in nature. It is God's business to help people to cope with said suffering and to find comfort in a hope for salvation into a better life outside the physical realm.
Sorry it doesn't fit in the usual theodicies you expected to encounter from your regular apologists. This works for me.
And, btw, you haven't provided anything remotely close to a satisfactory retort, apart your head-scratching.

I really never "planned" on leaving, but I was slowly getting less "usable" as a MS, hoping that eventually it would lead to some loving counseling to get me producing more, but once that wouldn't work, it would lead me to resign, without dramas. Too late now.
