Education, Indoctrination, or Propaganda?

can anyone remember that classic magazine article that stated:.

"education teaches one how to think, but propaganda tells one what to think" ?.

(if someone can post that quote and article that would be great!).

Even if it could be demonstrated that an intelligent being hypothetically started life and somehow proactively steered the process by which life evolved in its earliest stages... why would that entity merit anything else other than our curiosity? I fail to see why such entity would merit our devotion, worship or service.

In 1853 George Crum invented the potato chip. Since those days, potato chips have evolved in variety, size, flavor and production and marketing scales. Does that make Mr. Crum the Potato Chip God thence after?

this morning i arrived on my bicycle at the local starbucks early, before the intensity of the texas sun boiled to full blaze rendering me a soggy, wrung out mess.. i took up my perch on the outdoor patio in the shade, eager to work on my book of short stories.

this will be my 3rd book and i’ve been enjoying the process daily.. .

This is far more reaching than just a game, you see. There are 1,5 million portuguese emigrants living in France, hard-working, perfectly integrated, and historically have taken all the menial jobs in construction, cleaning, porters ... the french, and the parisians in particular, treat the portuguese with disdain, calling them "les petit portugais" (the small portuguese), and never really aknowledge them as more than cheap labor for 50 years. Over this tournament the french sports press called the portuguese team "filthy", among other endearing terms. So, winning this final at their home, at their lucky charm stadium, on their turnament, against their team, before an audience of 80% french supporters ... is a huge thing, and commands respect. Not to mention that, as far as official games go, Portugal had never won a game against France before, and the only win in a friendly match was in 1975. So... Huge!

It's rather shocking that, in order to receive an indemnity of 270.000, the legal fees amount to 1.000.000 !! Ridiculous.
