I "survived" my 4x1 JC trial for apostasy. Stood my ground and my rights to freedom of thinking. I'll be publicly reprimanded, but that's it. I have mixed feelings about it, because I don't feel totally "free", despite being out, along with my family (and more to follow). But being able to keep communication with my family still "in" is a great bonus for the time being.
Once the announcement is made, I'll share more details of my story.

this is a huge change... with serious cost savings.
It's not an actual editorial merge of the two magazines; it's simply a logistic arrangement to cut some costs. It already happens where I live for about 2 years now. But I do predict that the two will eventually merge.

that is the conclusion you must accept if you are a jehovah's witness as my wife tries to explain to me that even if what they are teaching today contradicts what they were previously teaching, they had the truth then and they have the truth now.
the difference is, they (the witnesses and the governing body) simply believed that what they were teaching at the time was the truth but when they discovered new information they adjusted their thinking.
so since they formerly believed it to be the truth, they were in the truth.. an example she gave involved people who once believed the earth was flat.
Interesting OT, I've dealt with this kind of mentality very often lately. It's sooo nerve-wrecking. But some good arguments are made here.

a) june 14th 2012 - on a trial by jury, cancace conti wins a civil law case involving child sexual abuse.
Justice is painfully slow everywhere, I guess. Where I live, it's a real joke.

Because I'm still wanting to keep my extended family in touch, and some of the friends still "in". but oh well ... as Bob Dylan sang, "when you got nothing, you got nothing to lose". There's more, a LOT more to tell, but ... later.

much has been written, twitted and youtubed about the extent to which the wtbts may go in order to keep its members from peeking out of the box.
from name calling, constantly telling members about the dangers of apostasy, all the way to dfing anyone who dares to look outside.
