  It's her younger sister, married with a uber-CO.

  Sweet woman, but also shows signs of obsession with little details. And, like her husband, they live 24/7 within the Watchtower bubble. It's all about the Organization, the brethren, God's creation, the future paradise, the preaching work, the experiences ... soo very tiring, and quickly becomes annoying. Seems like they don't know how to have a conversation about anything non-'spiritual'. My son used to get sick every time we would go out for a meal with them. They pounded and pounded on him about pioneering, a career in Bethel, dangers of high education .... sheesh!

  This is what my wife is up against.

  Is there a problem with the server?

  i've noticed two things.. a) i can't sign out from my account.. b) when a new account was created, clicking the verification email link returns a http 500 server error.

  since the verification of email hasn't been completed, can't log on with the new account.. simon, are you aware of this?.

  b) When a new account was created, clicking the verification email link returns a HTTP 500 Server Error. Since the verification of email hasn't been completed, can't log on with the new account.

  We've been discussing this for a couple of weeks now. Mrs. Eden has a tendency to make decisions quick and radically, and, as you might imagine, she would rather leave abruptly. But that's what she's done the last time, and the earthquake it generated, especially on the family, ended up with her going back in once she was vulnerable after her mom's death.

  So now I'm advising her to make a slow fade. She's dreading the pressure coming from some people in the congregation, namely the Bethel-heavy sister that gave her the 'recovery bible study', and her fleshy sister, who is married to a CO. Also a couple of close friends she has in the congregation.

  Her sister calls her every second day and always asks if she has attended the last meeting, sends her "spiritual" emails and text messages, reminds her to watch the latest "wonderful" videos and broadcasts from the mother Org, ... you get the picture. "Loving control". Besides ... we suspect that her sister and the Bethel sister that gave her the bible study are in contact behind the scenes. Any advice for her on how she can perhaps handle this kind of soft pressure?

  I almost gave up today except for a girl her tried to throw herself infront of two cars.............

  this may sound insane but i literally have blood on my hands as i have just come home from a counselling session that went wrong...i wanted to collate all that has happened and record it...hospital policy is against it.

  i said "what am i alive for then if not to tell the truth" she tut tutted and i walked out sadly in despair.. when i got to the ground floor there was a young girl screaming her head off.

  she was afraid, that is all she was...........afraid.

  few realize just how wicked some of the most revered people in history were.

  helen keeler (1880 to 1968) was a wolf in sheep's clothing, no hero.

  keller was a communist.

  A small update on the ongoing investigation by the Royal Commission

  i think you people would like to know that since the public hearing has finished.

  there has been ongoing contact made to me by the staff at the rc.

  they have been inundated with calls and the same experiences or similar ones are being related.. the staff are not backwards in coming forwards with insights that they have shared.

  First President Of The Watchtower Society

  i was reading on wikipedia about the watchtower society and it lists a william henry conley as the first president of the wt society (1881-1884).

  i was wonder if this is correct and why the modern jw's have eliminated him from the societies history?

  the only thing is the society was not incorporated till 1884 with russel as president.

  I suspect that the reason why Russell and Conley parted ways was due to some disagreement involving preacher George N. H. Peters, whose work Conley backed up through Zion's Watch Tower Society; however, in 1883 Zion's Watch Tower journal criticized George Peter's work and recommended its readers not to purchase it. I suspect that Russell wasn't pleased with this endorsement of doctrines he personally didn't agree with, no to mention that Conley had broader contacts with the Advent Christian circles that Russell denounced often, and so he and his former patron parted ways. Conley went to become a leading member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance until his death in 1897.

  Naturally, this bit of Conley's history is something that the Governing Body wish no Jehovah's Witness was ever aware of.
