I'm cautious of assuming any of the Moses narrative is historical but like you said it contains elements that may be.Naturally, one must take the ancient bible narratives as amalgamations of historical bits reworked over and over to fit a religious agenda. But when peeling layer after layer of fabrication, some tenuous picture starts to emerge, one where the early hebrews were polytheistic, and Yah was one of many deities worshipped by an assortment of semi-nomadic people in northen arabia - something that the later scribes and editors were eager to conceal because it didn't fit their strict monotheistic and ethnic uniqueness narratives.

The Lost Qos
by peacefulpete inthe names of the gods of palestine and surrounding regions are known to most of us only through the condemnations of the ot writers.
baal peor, hadad, chemosh, molech/milkom dagon, etc.
it is therefore surprising that the main deity of the sister nation to the south, edom is never mentioned.

Thank you for sharing, Pete.
Inquiring minds may wonder why Moses, when he ran away from Egypt, went to Midian, found shelter with the Kennite clan, and married the daughter of Reuel (Jethro), a PRIEST of the Kennites, who later on is seen offering acceptable sacrifice to the god of the hebrews, together with Moses and Abraham. ( Exodus 18:9-12). Clearly, the Kennite / Midianite deity worshipped by Reuel must have been identified syncreticly with Yah of the hebrews.

Yes the announcement is gone, but his name has been scrubbed from the official list of GB members.
Still serving in Bethel. Resigned for health reasons.
Those aren't facts. It's as speculative as everything else.

2.) Recent new appointments changed majority in GB and made serious changes possible; AMIII is not agreeing with changes and decided to resign. If so, we should see any major doctrinal or organizational changes before end of 2023.
Someone pointed out that the decisions on the GB are made by unanimity now; in this scenario, it could be that Anthony Morris became so entrenched and isolated in resisting a change of some kind, that the others concluded that he was resisting the flow of the Holy Spirit and asked him to resign ... and perhaps (why not?) using his known alcohol excesses as leverage against him to force him to resign.

I am SO sorry to disappoint you, but Thomas James Sullivan resigned July 5 1973 due to health reasons, and died July 30 1974.
The Governing Body only exists since 1977. That must have been one of the Directors of the Watchtower Society. In that sense, we can also go back to 1945 and recall when Knorr and Franz asked then Vice-President Hayden Covington to resign from the board of directors because he didn't have the "heavenly hope". He resigned and was replaced by Lyman Swingle.

Adding another two cents here.
Picture this scenario:
As per Ray Franz, the GB needs 2/3 of votes to decide on important matters, such as change in doctrines or policy. Now, when they were 7, a change could only be obtained with a minimum of 5 votes in favor. Conversely, 3 votes would be enough to block a change.
For the sake of argument, let's say that the majority of GB members wants to change certain important policy or doctrine. Tony opposes it, along with two other GB members, and by 4-3 votes, they manage to block the change. The situation deadlocks and drags on for months or years. The majority of others grows frustrated. To force a change, the only way is to increase the voting pool or hope one of the 'opposing trio' dies. Enter Kenneth Cook. Now the GB is 8. Again, even if this scenario (5-3), the 3 votes block the change.
Now, at this moment, it is decided that the GB needs more members (old age of some members, share the burden, etc). Enter Jeffrey Winder and Gage Fleegle. They were handpicked knowing in advance they'd side with the majority. Now, the scale has tipped. With ten members, a 7-3 vote means the opposing trio can be defeated. Imagine, knowing he's outnumbered, Tony threatening: "if this is approved, I will resign". There's a show of power, a vote is called on the matter, Tony is defeated, a change is decided. The other two see it as Jehovah guiding things and accept the will of the majority; but Tony takes no BS and sees it as mere politics, and makes good on his threat and resigns from the GB. He then must be seen as resisting the "holy spirit", spiritually weak, obstinate, proud, and therefore loses his privileges and reproached, though not disfellowshipped, and not asked to leave Bethel either.
So, why bring in two new members, when 6-3 vote (9 total votes) would suffice? Because they were already accounting for the possibility that Tony would resign, thus reducing the members to 9, and so, they wanted to keep their majority intact, also in the likely scenario that one of them might pass away sometime soon.

I think this announcement is more about what it doesn't say than what about what it says.
The terse wording, without any praise or thank you for Tony's long and prominent service screams that this wasn't an honorable discharge; the fact that they are letting time pass without any explanation is also very telling: they know how the speculative rumor mill works and they know that Tony's reputation is being trashed by the minute and Tony knows that as well. So this silence without explanation also reeks of punishment. Clearly the GB is invested in destroying Tony's reputation by letting the rank and file JW think that this is "Jehovah cleaning his organization" and that Tony became a rotten apple that needs to go. By calling him "brother Anthony" they are telling him that he can still salvage something, but this is probably act one of a tragic full demise in shame of Tony Morris.
What led to this? Nobody knows - yet - but I suspect we'll find out soon enough as act two unfolds within the next two weeks.

This is the furthest from being christian.
If we claim someone "not redeemable", than we are no better then they are. That being said, it doesn't mean we'd need to become friends with the guy and assume he is magically a good person if he ever chose to leave the JW. All I'm saying is that we'd need to give the guy a chance at redemption.I didn't mean "not redeemable" in a Christian sense; that sense is lost in me, since I'm not a believer, and who am I to judge life and death, anyway? I meant that I don't think he had a change of heart and attitude of such magnitude that he would become palatable for the exJW crowd, thus "redeemable" in a Hollywood comeback fashion, if you will.
I have a feeling that we're not seeing someone who suddenly comes out as a dissident; rather, we see someone whose personal shortcomings and inner ghosts finally caught up with him, in a position where such shortcomings are prone to be weaponized by zealots and hypocrites. Even his position of power couldn't save him.
