Even though it is nonsense for them to even make such a comment like saying ‘just days away”…when they say that, it can’t mean Armageddon to them because they know that Gog attacks them first and then after some time during that attack, Jehovah will step in (Jesus’ arrival) and rescue them, at that point Armageddon will begin.

There is a surprisingly large number of JWs, even those at the top, who are convinced that all WTS buildings will somehow survive Armageddon.

As far as that statement…apparently these JWs haven’t heard this talk:

Mother is terrified over talks of peace.

just spoke with my mother about the summit for north and south korea, her face turned a ghastly pale and she refused to talk to me about it afterwards.

i know exactly what is on her mind, and i'm not sure if i can say or do anything to assuage her fears about this being a fulfillment of prophecy.

any suggestions on what i could perhaps tell her to try and steer her from her line of thinking?

The timing of the saying peace and security is at the end of the 42-months when the wild beast/8th king kills the two-witnesses. It has nothing to do with NOKO and SOKO saying it or like many others think of it having to do with Israel and Palestine.

If anything this Scripture seems to be being fulfilled:

Daniel 11:27 “And as regards these two kings, their heart will be inclined to doing what is bad, and at one table a lie is what they will keep speaking. But nothing will succeed, because [the] end is yet for the time appointed.

The two kings here are referring to the king of the north and the king of the south…so you can see how fitting it is at this time in regards to NOKO and SOKO, but unfortunately this can’t be the fulfillment of this because NOKO does not fit the role of the KOTN/8th king.

jesus has appointed the ‘faithful slave’ to be the only channel for dispensing spiritual food.

NikL, I am curious if your wife would agree that Jesus has NOT appointed a ‘faithful slave’…have her read the following and see if she agrees with what is actually stated in the Bible.

Do you agree that in regards to Matthew 24:45-47 of the topic of ‘the faithful slave’ that verse 45 is merely asking the question of who is, but verse 46 goes on to state that ‘the slave’ that is found doing so ‘on the master’s arrival’ is who will ‘then at that time be found to be faithful’ and appointed over the master’s belongings.

In other words, ‘the slave’ is just a ‘slave’ prior to the master’s arrival and it is up to the master upon his arrival to determine what slave/s are ‘faithful or not. It is not up to the slave/s themselves to determine their own faithfulness. To further demonstrate this, please consider the following scriptures.

(Matthew 25:14,19,21,23,26-27 Luke 19:13,15,17,22-23)

As can be seen, the master summoned ‘SLAVES’, not faithful ones, nor wicked ones, just ‘SLAVES’. But it is on the master’s arrival that he then determines which of those ‘SLAVES’ were faithful or wicked. The point being is that it is presumptuous for the ‘slave/s’ to consider/call themselves ‘faithful’ presently, when that is something that is for the master to determine/say when he arrives. In fact to the contrary ‘the slaves’ when calling themselves anything, the master himself said what is found at Luke 17:10…

i was just sent a link to a jewish scholar that apparently he has found 1,000 manuscripts with yehovah and latest discovery is one with vowels that supports the spelling yehovah.

I have to admit that I was excited to check the youtube video based on hearing that the vowels points are in these found manuscripts, but these guys put an end to that excitement real quick.

If they don’t show the manuscripts and give more information about them then what they are saying means nothing to me.

Having said that, with or without manuscripts I am of the belief that Yehovah/Jehovah is the correct spelling of God’s name that is if the above Hebrew names are correct.

If there are many Hebrew names that start with JEHO/YEHO or end in IAH/YAH and the part that makes up that part of the name is from יהוה (JHVH/YHWH) and if it is accepted to use the vowels E, O, & A for these names then it only stands to reason that these vowels should be used in writing out God’s name.
