Judging by the balderdash reply so far I realize
that I should also state that the scriptures that I cited are not relevant to
the points being shown. I only used those scriptures to show the use of the
names found in them.

The most successful teaching of Jehovah's Witnesses and an amazing new book on the divine name
by slimboyfat injehovah's witnesses have had to revise their chronology and various doctrinal interpretations due to events and scholarly corrections.
but the one teaching where they have been consistently ahead of the curve is the importance of jehovah's name.. .
i'm going to run through a (necessarily selective) timeline of jw events and scholarly publications that demonstrate the phenomenal success of this teaching in the last days.

Unable to edit my above post. There are a number of things that didn't come out right as far as colors and bolden letters that I feel would help make what I posted clear. Also the links are not suppose to be there and they are not correct. (don't know how they appeared like that) Anyway, hope that what is meant to be shown here can still get through to those that can reason.

no one really knows how to completely spell or accurately pronounce the name that is represented by the tetragrammaton: יְהֹוָה
Every scholar I have read or heard discuss the Hebrew God pronounce it Yahweh.
I was taking a look here and it seems that the best pronunciation is YAHWEH rather then the Jehovah
Jehovah = YHWH + the vowels of Adoni
It was the result of a misunderstanding of a medieval Catholic scholar.
Original Word: יְהוֹשׁ֫וּעַ
Jehoshua (short form: Joshua)
Joshua 1:1 And it came about after the death of Moses the servant of Jehovah[3068] that Jehovah[3068] proceeded to say to Joshua[3091] the son of Nun, the minister of Moses:
Original Word: Ἰησοῦς
Jesus
Hebrews 4:8 For if Joshua[2424] had led them into a place of rest, God would not afterward have spoken of another day.
Matthew 1:21 She will give birth to a son, and you must call his name Jesus[2424], for he will save his people from their sins.
3068. Yhvh
Original Word: יְהֹוָה
Deuteronomy 6:16 “YOU must not put Jehovah[3068] YOUR God[430] to the test, the way YOU put him to the test at Mas´sah.
Luke 4:12 In answer Jesus[2424] said to him: “It is said, ‘You must not put Jehovah your God to the test.’”
Original Word: אֱלֹהִים
God
Original Word: אֲדֹנָי
Lord
Jeremiah 1:6 But I said: “Alas, O Sovereign Lord[136] Jehovah[3068]! Here I actually do not know how to speak, for I am but a boy.”
Joel 2:31 The sun itself will be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and fear-inspiring day of Jehovah[3068]. And it must occur that everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah[3068] will get away safe;
Acts 2:20 the sun will be turned into darkness and the moon into blood before the great and illustrious day of Jehovah arrives. 21 And everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be saved.”’
3050. Yah
Original Word: יָהּ
Jah
Exodus 15:2 My strength and my might is Jah[3050], since he serves for my salvation. This is my God, and I shall laud him; my father’s God, and I shall raise him on high.
Isaiah 12:2 Look! God is my salvation. I shall trust and be in no dread; for Jah[3050] Jehovah[3068] is my strength and my might, and he came to be the salvation of me.”
Original Word: יְהוֹשָׁפָט
Jehoshaphat

Jehovah`s Witnesses Boasted They have No Clergy Laity Class ?
by smiddy inwell that`s what was impressed on me to differentiate between the true religion and false religion , when i was converted in 1960 , do they still claim that ?
believing that they still do , i will say this.. what about ,:the governing body who definitely are set apart from the rank and file for their attitude towards the r&f , but also from the attitude of the r&f towards the governing body members.many do seem to idolise gb members by their actions , and the gb members dont seem to discourage that.. and not only for their attitude , how about their life-style , being housed in bethel with all the mod -cons of modern civilization as opposed to a r&f member living in a third world country .does the wt society do anything to make their lifestyle improve ?
{ did jesus have a place to rest his head ?

Do you agree that in regards to Matthew 24:45-47 of the topic of ‘the faithful slave’ that verse 45 is merely asking the question of who is, but verse 46 goes on to state that ‘the slave’ that is found doing so ‘on the master’s arrival’ is who will ‘then at that time be found to be faithful’ and appointed over the master’s belongings. In other words, ‘the slave’ is just a ‘slave’ prior to the master’s arrival and it is up to the master upon his arrival to determine what slave/s are ‘faithful or not. It is not up to the slave/s themselves to determine their own faithfulness. To further demonstrate this, please consider the following scriptures. (Matthew 25:14,19,21,23,26-27 Luke 19:13,15,17,22-23) As can be seen, the master summoned ‘SLAVES’, not faithful ones, nor wicked ones, just ‘SLAVES’. But it is on the master’s arrival that he then determines which of those ‘SLAVES’ were faithful or wicked. The point being is that it is presumptuous for the ‘slave/s’ to consider/call themselves ‘faithful’ presently, when that is something that is for the master to determine/say when he arrives. In fact to the contrary ‘the slaves’ when calling themselves anything, the master himself said what is found at Luke 17:10…
Another point on this, do you agree that the terms ‘the faithful and discreet slave class/the faithful and discreet slave /the faithful slave class/the faithful slave/the slave class‘ or ‘Governing Body‘ – w/capitals G&B) are titles,…i.e.
[lower case (g) (b) for first century> vs. ]
[12-1-19 WT- “Thousands of the readers of Pastor Russell’s writings believe that he filled the office of “that faithful and wise servant,” and that his great work was giving to the Household of Faith meat in due season. His modesty and humility precluded him from openly claiming this title,]
[6-1-01 WT- Jesus set out the principle: “Do not you be called Rabbi, for one is your teacher, whereas all you are brothers. Moreover, do not call anyone your father on earth, for one is your Father, the heavenly One. Neither be called ‘leaders,’ for your Leader is one, the Christ. But the greatest one among you must be your minister.” (Matthew 23:8-11) A congregation of brothers precludes having a proud clergy class that honors itself with high-sounding titles and elevates itself above a laity.]
________________
Just as Russell’s modesty and humility precluded him from openly claiming such a title, an angel of Jehovah’s that the apostle John fell down to the feet of to worship, and had to be warned not to do so, that angel himself referred to himself as being ‘only a fellow slave’…
Now speaking of the account that John had to be warned by the angel not to worship him (Revelation 22: 8,9) and given the account of the Israelite’s who desired to have a visible image made with the claim that it represented Jehovah, in which Jehovah viewed as idolatry…do you agree that people today can be guilty of idolatry to an organization (or group of men) that claim to represent Jehovah, by giving it (them) any undue devotion, praise, respect, adoration, love, worship, etc…
[9-15-95 WT- ‘The Golden Calf’ And the people said: “All that Jehovah has spoken we are willing to do and be obedient.”—Exodus 24:7. Nevertheless, the Israelites soon sinned against God. They were still encamped at the foot of Mount Sinai. Moses had been on the mountain many days, receiving further instruction from God, and the people pressured Moses’ brother, Aaron, to make a god for them. Aaron complied and made a calf out of gold that the people provided. It was claimed that this idol represented Jehovah. (Psalm 106:20) The next day they offered sacrifices and kept “bowing down to it.” Then they had “a good time.”—Exodus 32:1, 4, 6, 8, 17-19.]
[4-1-07 WT- ‘Showing Due Respect for the Faithful Slave‘ A fundamental reason for showing proper respect for the faithful slave class is that by so doing, we are in fact showing respect for the Master, Jesus Christ.…Therefore, when we loyally submit to the direction of the faithful slave and its GoverningBody, we are submitting to Christ, the slave’s Master….For this reason, all in the congregation view it as their sacred duty to follow and uphold the direction coming from the faithful slaveand its Governing Body]
[12-1-90 WT- We have the opportunity to show love for our brothers who take the lead in the congregation or in connection with Jehovah’s visible organization worldwide. This includesbeing loyal to “the faithful and discreet slave.” (Matthew 24:45-47) Let us face the fact that no matter how much Bible reading we have done, we would never have learned the truth on our own.]
[11-1-90 WT- Further direction comes from “the faithful and discreet slave” class of anointed Christians. These have been helped by Jehovah’s spirit to understand his will progressively. (Matthew 24:45-47; Proverbs 4:18) Thus, when direction comes from Jehovah’s organization, we can wisely submit to it,]
[11-15-09 WT- By word or action, may we never challenge the channel of communication that Jehovah is using today. (Num. 16:1-3) On the contrary, we should cherish our privilege to cooperate with the slave class.]
[4-15-13 WT- How do we demonstrate our support for the arrangements made by Jehovah’s organization? One important way is by always putting our confidence in the ones whom Jehovah and Jesus trusting]
[2-15-09 WT- Since Jehovah God and Jesus Christ completely trust the faithful and discreet slave, should we not do the same?]

Peace and Security!
by biblexaminer inwatchtower teaches that soon there will be a huge development that will be a sign for jehovah's witnesses!
5:3 the watchtower magazine, principle journal of jehovah's witnesses, writes.... however, just before that day of jehovah begins, world leaders will be saying “peace and security!” this may refer to one event or to a series of events.

Revelation 11:7 And when they have finished their witnessing, the wild beast that ascends out of the abyss will make war with them and conquer them and kill them. 8 And their corpses will be on the broad way of the great city which is in a spiritual sense called Sod´om and Egypt, where their Lord was also impaled. 9 And those of the peoples and tribes and tongues and nations will look at their corpses for three and a half days, and they do not let their corpses be laid in a tomb. 10 And those dwelling on the earth rejoice over them and enjoy themselves, and they will send gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those dwelling on the earth.
The two witnesses will be killed at the end of their1, 260 days (42 months) of witnessing…when verse 10 occurs it will be the time of the following below:
1 Thessalonians 5:1Now as for the times and the seasons, brothers, YOU need nothing to be written to YOU. 2 For YOU yourselves know quite well that Jehovah’s day is coming exactly as a thief in the night. 3 Whenever it is that they are saying: “Peace and security!” then sudden destruction is to be instantly upon them just as the pang of distress upon a pregnant woman; and they will by no means escape. 4 But YOU, brothers, YOU are not in darkness, so that that day should overtake YOU as it would thieves, 5 for YOU are all sons of light and sons of day. We belong neither to night nor to darkness. 6 So, then, let us not sleep on as the rest do, but let us stay awake and keep our senses.

What's the point?
by punkofnice ini mean, i don't want to be miserable or anything, but what's the bloody point of it all?.
since i left the watchtower cult, i have come to realise that god cannot possibly exist...and if a god exists...god is indifferent to humankind as the least.. in 100 years time i'll be gone.

I mean, I don't want to be miserable or anything, but what's the bloody point of it all?
In 100 years time I'll be gone. Kaput. No memory. Not even sleeping. I won't be in heaven or living on in any way what so ever. All my hopes and dreams will have gone.
I couldn't commit suicide (although, I've tried before), I don't wanna die………… what's the bloody point to anything? It's all so futile. Transient. Always ends in tears.8-15-99 WT- The Scriptures say that God ‘has put eternity into our hearts.’ (Ecclesiastes 3:11) This sense of eternity moves man to ponder life’s brevity. In the long run, without finding convincing answers to the meaning of life and death, one can become burdened with feelings of pessimism and futility. This can make life sad.
Ecclesiastes 9:5 For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all,
Psalm 146:4 His spirit goes out, he goes back to his ground; In that day his thoughts do perish.
Ecclesiastes 3:11 American Standard Version (ASV)
…also he hath set eternity in their heart,…
Since I left the watchtower cult, I have come to realise that god cannot possibly exist...
I did prefer believing in a magical being that would kiss it and make it all better............sadly, no such entity really exists. -

Joel 2:32 And it must occur that everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah
We all agree that this verse above contains the YHVH in the Hebrew Scriptures.
Now look at when they translated the Hebrew Scriptures into Greek they replaced the YHVH with Κυρίου (Lord)
http://www.ellopos.net/elpenor/greek-texts/septuagint/chapter.asp?book=34&page=3
5 And it shall come to pass that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved:
5 καὶ ἔσται, πᾶς, ὃς ἂν ἐπικαλέσηται τὸ ὄνομα Κυρίου, σωθήσεται·
Now Acts 2:21
http://www.ellopos.net/elpenor/greek-texts/septuagint/chapter.asp?book=34&page=3
21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
21 καὶ ἔσται πᾶς ὃς ἂν ἐπικαλέσηται τὸ ὄνομα Κυρίου σωθήσεται.
So being that in the Old Testament (Hebrew Scriptures) in a place where you know the YHWH was but was replaced with Κυρίου (Lord) it is no surprise to find that they did it there in the New Testament when quoting a Scripture from the Old Testament.
So who can claim that the YHVH never appeared in the original writing of the New Testament at least in every place where Old Testament Scripture are quoted? And who can claim that the YHWH was not in additional places in the New Testament and not just where Old Testament Scripture are quoted?
Example…
Luke 10:27
http://www.ellopos.net/elpenor/greek-texts/new-testament/luke/10.asp
27 And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.
Exodus 15:2 My strength and my might is Jah, since he serves for my salvation.
This is my God, and I shall laud him; my father’s God, and I shall raise him on high.Psalm 104:35 Bless Jehovah, O my soul. Praise Jah, YOU people! 105 GIVE thanks to Jehovah, call upon his name,
Revelation 19:1 After these things I heard what was as a loud voice of a great crowd in heaven. They said: “Praise Jah, YOU people! The salvation and the glory and the power belong to our God,
Also see:
Most English Bibles, even those such as the Jerusalem Bible which has Yahweh in the Old Testament, do not use Yahweh in the New Testament. This is because the Greek New Testament manuscripts are quoting the Septuagint, where the Hebrew word YHWH is translated by kyrios.

This is news to me. You're saying in 1899, all denominations of Christianity used "Jehovah"? Then in 1900, they suddenly stopped? I hadn't heard that before. Learn something new every day.
Martin Luther in a sermon which he delivered in 1526 on Jeremiah 23:1-8, he said, "The name Jehovah, Lord, belongs exclusively to the true God."
The name "Jehovah" first appeared in an English BIBLE in 1530, when William Tyndale published a translation of the Chumash (the first five books of the Bible).

an obvious corrupt individual in spinning and twisting scriptures to serve your own means and purpose.
Do you have any example of what scriptures I spun and twisted???
Did or did not Jesus say in Matthew 6:9 to let the name be sanctified???
Did or did not Peter quote from the book of Joel…and what name is found there???
Was the tradition that started in the refusal to not pronounce the name…was it started by:
1) Jehovah
2) Jesus
3) the apostles
4) the Jewish leaders
Do any have any objection to the spelling of the name Yehoshaphat (Jehoshaphat)???
What # out of 1-5 would you use to fill in the blank???
Jehoshaphat is said to mean ________ is judge.
1) YHVH/JHVH
2) YEHO/JEHO
3) LORD
4) YEHOVAH/JEHOVAH
5) YAHWEH
You must therefore be a JWs I take it then
I am not nor ever was…if I was one, would I have a website that has questions that are directed to them that in ever one when trying to answer it shows their current understanding is incorrect?
https://johnamos880.wordpress.com/jehovahs-witnesses/
If johnamos is trying to justify the use of "Jehovah", relying on the NWT "translation"
I do support the use of the name JEHOVAH and it has nothing to do with the NWT or some monk.
If johnamos is trying to justify the use of "Yahweh", well that term already appears in most, (probably all) bible translations
Again, it is the name JEHOVAH that I am supporting not Yahweh and JEHOVAH can be found in these bible translations and not one of then are the NWT.

The tradition, which was in effect at the time of the Messiah, of teaching the people that the name “Yahweh” was too sacred to pronounce, and to speak this name was blasphemy
Isaiah 29:13 And Jehovah says: “For the reason that this people have come near with their mouth, and they have glorified me merely with their lips, and they have removed their heart itself far away from me, and their fear toward me becomes men’s commandment that is being taught,
Mark 7:8 Letting go the commandment of God, YOU hold fast the tradition of men.”
Titus 1:14 paying no attention to Jewish fables and commandments of men who turn themselves away from the truth.
So by following in accordance to the written word , people should never speak the name Yahweh or Jehovah
On the contrary:
Matthew 6:9 “YOU must pray, then, this way: “‘Our Father in the heavens, let your name be sanctified.
John 17:26 And I have made your name known to them and will make it known, in order that the love with which you loved me may be in them and I in union with them.”
Acts 2:14 But Peter stood up with the eleven and raised his voice and made this utterance to them: “Men of Ju·de´a and all YOU inhabitants of Jerusalem, let this be known to YOU and give ear to my sayings. 15 These [people] are, in fact, not drunk, as YOU suppose, for it is the third hour of the day. 16 On the contrary, this is what was said through the prophet Joel, 17 ‘“And in the last days,” God says, “I shall pour out some of my spirit upon every sort of flesh, and YOUR sons and YOUR daughters will prophesy and YOUR young men will see visions and YOUR old men will dream dreams; 18 and even upon my men slaves and upon my women slaves I will pour out some of my spirit in those days, and they will prophesy. 19 And I will give portents in heaven above and signs on earth below, blood and fire and smoke mist; 20 the sun will be turned into darkness and the moon into blood before the great and illustrious day of Jehovah arrives. 21 And everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be saved.”’
(Joel 2:32) And it must occur that everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will get away safe; for in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will prove to be the escaped ones, just as Jehovah has said, and in among the survivors, whom Jehovah is calling.”
