  A STRANGE thing happened on the way to the Psychiatrist...

  he's gone apostate!

  as some may remember, when i started my fade, my husband freaked out and thought i was going to leave him.

  he wanted to see someone about our marriage.

  Very unusual that a JW is a Psychiatrist.

  I grew up in New England and knew of only one. He was somewhat of an expert in depression. And was also Presiding Overseer (older term for COBE) of his congreation while treating various brothers and sisters.

  This Eleder became somewhat of a stat in the local area. BOEs all over the circuit and beyond would consult with him regarding members who were depressed or abuse survivors.

  I sort of wonder if the above story is about the same person ? Its possible.

  1)brattleboro, bellows falls, & bennington congregations - stagnat growth for at least 20 years.

  2)wilmington & north adams ma congreations - disolved.

  Yeah I agree with Magnum. Lets see what others have to report on declines.

  Londo, interesting read. It read almost like my original post. Maybe same thing is happening all over USA/Canada. At least for english speaking congregations.

  Hi Londo, thanks for the "thumbs up".

  Are you a New Englander (go Patriots !)? Hehe we are weird bunch. If you ever see someone wearing a parka & shorts combo & eating kayle chips they are probably also Red Sox fans !

  Anyway, I forgot to also ask, what ever happened to the Natic MA assembly hall ? Did it get sold? My folks were going to circuit assemblies there all through the 80's. Then sometime in the 90's they started going to UMASS (Amherst campus).

  So I am reading some older posts from those in area and this is what I understand:

  1)Brattleboro, Bellows Falls, & Bennington congregations - Stagnat growth for at least 20 years

  2)Wilmington & North Adams MA congreations - disolved

  3)Claremont NH north & south congreations - merged

  4)Keene & Swanzey NH congreations - talk of merging for years, but I don't think this has happened. According to a recent post by Oppostate the Keene congreation is down to 60 publishers (mostly older folks)

  I am leaving some congreations out because I just don't know the recent status. Does anyone here know.

  Also it would seem like the circuit itself is about to be merged with another circuit. Could this possibly happen ?

  miss k and her friend miss w arrived promptly today.

  our scheduled topic of discussion: jesus' claim to be "the way, the truth and the life..." john 14:6 since she was basing this topic choice on the fact that i had quoted that verse, i'm not sure why... she spent what seemed like a very long time, hopping through scriptures that all said that jesus was the truth, the way, or the life.

  ok, so we agreed... i kept waiting for her to get to a point, or sway from this principle.. of course, she summed up with scriptures that show how jesus submits to the father, and what does that mean we should do?

  All Circuit Overseers must retire at 70

  Change in contributions, Congregations must plege an amount every month to the Society.

  Watchtower Inc. 100 Henry Street Links to MANY other Suspect Companies

  there have been a few posts in the past about watchtower inc. at 100 henry street, but i do not see the answer i'm hoping for.. can anyone confirm or provide details linking watchtower inc. to the wbts?

  they are across the street, and one can easily assume that they are connected, but i don't see any definite links.. the closest i have come is this link: http://www.insideview.com/directory/watchtower-inc which lists watchtower.org as the website.

  this could have been posted like this in error however.. according to 2014 sec filings watchtower inc. has a ceo named sholom drizin ( a man worth possibly 2 billion.).
