Oh, and surprise surprise - it appears there were safety concerns about the Titan submersible in the past...
Titanic sub: Safety concerns raised about missing submersible
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-65977432
any opinions are just speculation, but my guess, being morbid, is that there was not a hull breach and implosion (although that would have been the most merciful fate for them), but instead the amateur level of building this thing meant that it lost power and communication and got itself tangled in the titanic's wreckage or is sitting on the actual seabed with no way to release ballast to resurface.
terrifying.
what's your gut feeling?

If they cut corners, the risk could go from a tiny possibility to an almost guaranteed disaster. I wonder, if you told the people paying such large dollar amounts that they might not be able to track the sub if it got lost, would they have stepped aboard?
Surely businesses providing such services have a duty of care to their customers? Ok, so you might be trying to provide an 'exciting' experience, but it can't really be much different in principle to an adventure holiday company, a theme park with 'thrill' rides, etc. The service you provide may have a certain level of risk, but if you know that there is a greater degree of risk which you as a provider could take reasonable steps to mitigate against (but you don't), then surely there is a basis for corporate negligence or manslaughter charges right there? Things like a secondary power and/or propulsion source, or a backup means of communicating with another vessel or the surface, should be the minimum safety for a deep-sea diving vessel such as this.
This reminds me of the horrific Kursk submarine disaster, but that was a slightly different situation as it was a military vessel and there were multiple faults and failings which led to all 118 crew dying, and the sub lying on the bottom for over a week before rescuers reached it.

He’s never been called out on his bullshit and had it stick until last year.
Excellent post.
That's exactly why he's built up such a bulletproof shell of self-confidence and aggrandisement. Noone had really challenged his image of himself for all this time until last year. He's still in the denial stage where he just can't bring himself (publicly at least) to really admit he may have been wrong and been the bad guy at any point. That denial may continue forever or, as TonusOH said earlier, he may have a sudden epiphany one day which will either break him or it will solidify his position as a real villain with a chip on his shoulder.
He thinks he’s the best thing to have ever happened to Dijana and probably wastes no time in reminding her what a local brother in Sisak would have earned for her.
Don't forget also, the other tactic used by many adulterers, cheaters and sex offenders: blame their partner's supposed inadequacies for their perversion or choice of infidelity. In his case, he blamed her inability to satisfy him for his "need" (ie: deliberate choice) to pursue prostitutes on a regular basis.
That's almost the ultimate betrayal, not just the act of cheating itself, but to undermine your mate by publicly blaming her alleged faults for your problems. Add to that the repeated mental attacks on her with manipulative, gaslighting messages and the use of his kids to massage his image and there is no doubt he is a toxic husband and father.
Will he ever realise that either? And would that realisation even make him change? Who knows. But right now, the indicators are not positive.

Oh, there are so many places(*) you could go with this one.
Etc, etc...
(*) - or "plaices". But I won't "carp" on about it.
elder friend of mine texted me asking what my rc attendance was 2 weeks ago (family and i streamed it since wife is not well).
he told me that his rc in the jersey city assembly hall last weekend was low.
co told them that around 2600 were the total from 16+ congs that were assigned.
I remember sitting in the hot sun in a suit sweating your balls off getting dehydrated...
Or if you were in the UK, the opposite problem: getting frozen by the cold wind blowing round the upper levels of the football stadium you're in - or soaked by pouring rain, then having to sit in the stands (or in your car) slowly steaming in a soggy, creased suit!
(Note: of course, we did have hot days too during the conventions, but it depended how good the summer was each year - the rainy/cold ones were worse!)

"Coming soon... only 4 days (and counting) later than ExJW Caleb!"

Wait... he used to have some "respectful" conversations with John Redwood, Covert Fade, etc, on his JW Watch videos.
And he did once with Andrew Gold.
What was the common theme? Oh yes, it was when he thought they were completely on his side and not questioning him.
As soon as anyone disagrees though... the "respectful" bit goes out of the window!

"Respectful dialogue " yes like the one he used to have on this forum ?
Indeed. I don't think I've seen him have one of those online yet!

It seems he blocked me over this one
Haha! He should've been pleased he was portrayed as way more handsome than he really is...
in the insight book under expelling, it refers to 1 cor 5 and titus 3 and 2 thess 3 as the basis for disfellowshipping.they've often said that the governing body was stated in acts 15 of the apostles and older men.
however, why was there no decree or letter issued by the governing body or apostles and older men and sent out to the congregations, detailing the principles of disfellowshipping?
it is all paul.
My query was that it is odd how people follow the apostles or letters from them when they are no different than a circuit or district overseer, or a Bethel Elder giving a letter or talk.
Possibly, but if you take the Bible as "gospel" (pardon the pun), the apostle Paul was selected by Jesus so he could be said to be acceptable as a source of instruction for the body of Christians.
There's definitely no such evidence for any of the modern-day org like the GB, COs or Bethel elders!
