by RavynX inrisking the flames of the ignorant, let me suggest some reading for all you awakening humans who i have come to love:.
do a search on john edward, he has a site but i am not sure if it is johnedward.com or .org, and he is also on the sci-fi channel(cable tv in usa) and has a site on their page too.
i recommend getting one of his books and watching his show.

rem-IMO not all discussions are the same. sometimes people who agree can have interesting conversations. yes, it would be boring if ALL discussions did not include debate, but some are not started for that purpose. this said, i still think you have the right to say whatever you want. it would be nice if SOMETIMES people don't have to be criticized, if that is their wish. for me i rarely want to talk about something without being challenged, but there are a few instances where i might not want criticism. i say rarely because people that know me know i love to debate. if you still wish to criticize on this one occasion, i don't think it makes you a bad person, and i'm not going to cry about it. i'll take what you said into consideration, but that doesn't mean that, categorically, no one should ever be able to discuss something on the board w/out being criticized, does it? it's just how i feel about this one topic, and it may well be a view that is unique to me-if so, that's fine, i'm definitely not wishing to make a rule.-nate

I Think That I Chose My Parents.
by Englishman indo you believe in reincarnation?.
i dont think i believe in it in the same way that most believers do, which is that we keep coming back in different fleshly bodies until we have achieved perfection.. i do, however, strongly suspect that we may well be spirit creatures who find it necessary to inhabit a fleshly body from time to time, and that this entails us having to leave behind most of our past memories.. i say most memories, because many people seem to have some vestigal recollections that don`t seem to fit in with earthly experiences.. i`m pretty sure that i chose my parents!
i have a recollection of being shown a young and kind couple through some form of astral telescope and choosing to become their son.

expat-just wanted to clarify that when i said "doubters", i didn't mean it to be negative.:) i happen to think a certain way, i'm not closed off to new ideas. i wouldn't want to get to the point where i was dogmatic about my views, and wasn't trying to with my post.:)-nate

rem-i don't know why you think i am trying to say that everyone isn't welcome to express their views. i just don't know why other views have to be discredited. i have ABSOLUTELY no problem with you expressing yourself. i think if you had seen most of my posts since i first got here not long ago, it would be apparent to you that i have no wish to censor anyone. i think opinions can be expressed, however, without trodding all over the opposing view. did you see my posts? did i ever say that you or any with your opinion are wrong? when you read my posts-try to see the real motive behind it. i think it's obvious that i don't have a problem with your views, only how some presented them.-nate

ravyn-i'm sorry that even when you start a new thread and specificly ask that it not be a place for criticism your wishes are not respected. i enjoyed your post and can identify with some of your experiences. looking forward to your future posts.:) not everyone believes the same thing, it's too bad some can't be content with differences in a opinion. don't let it discourage you, though i doubt it will.-nate

to all doubters-i think some of you are missing the point of this thread. some of us have certain beliefs that you don't. this topic wasn't started to argue some of our beliefs, only to share them. i really have no idea why you have the need to tell us we are wrong. also i think like esmerelda in that i don't discount the possiblity that science could have an explaination for the things that have been talked about on this thread. i posted on this thread to share some of my experiences/thoughts. period.
am i back at the kingdom hall? why is it so hard to be tolerent of others beliefs? it seems some here are having a hard time letting those of like opinion discuss a topic without having to try to beat it down. this dissapoints me. i'm not proving why i feel the way i do simply because that wasn't the reason i posted my thoughts. not every discussion here needs to be a debate, does it? if any of you doubters are vegetarians, do you go up to someone at the supermarket and lambast them for being meat eaters? it's not a great comparison, but i think you get what i mean. if someone on the board says something hurtful, tell them what you feel. if someone on the board brings up a topic for debate, debate it, but if someone shares an opinion, why try to discredit them? this kind of unasked for criticism will only bring negativity to a place almost all of us come for positivity. please take these thoughts into consideration, i know that probably most of you that criticized are nice people.:)

perfect-i made it a point NOT to attack any doubters. i think it was obvious that i respect your right to think as you will. i only asked that those who do doubt be respectful of those who don't. i don't need to argue this topic with anyone-it's a very personal belief. while i do think you have an educated opinion(i'm not going to say you don't because we don't agree), i think the way you expressed that opinion wasn't very kind. i don't want there to be any rules, i was just expressing my own thought that all views should be shown respect.-nate

Special assembly day
by comment ini attended a local special assembly day yesterday.
didn't seem like too much had changed overall.
however, i've got some questions.. 1) when did the society decide to revert to allowing witnesses to study more than one book with their bible studies?

""Scriptures that I read casually at one time now take on an entirely new
meaning."ROFLMAO-i think this what gets the WT into so much trouble, taking scriptures one at a time and reading too much into them, then, voila!, "new light"!
