today, april 20th, is the fourth anniversary of a very special day in my life.. the anniversary of my rebirth.. this rebirth was not a religious experience, but it was something totally pure, amazing and healing.. it had nothing at all to do with the society, or rather, of freeing myself from it.
it was however, a giant first step in that direction.. today is the fourth anniversary of the day i got letter that changed everything.
the words on the pages were alive, and magical: they released me from my old life and for the first time.
cheers, esmeralda!!!!

can someone please tell me exactly what constitutes a df'ing offence?.
i recently read a post where someone said that they were df'd for committing "adultery in the heart", someone else for gambling, someone else for smoking etc etc.
it's all very puzzling, back in the 60's the wtbts had a down on "petting and necking" but it wasn't df'able.
interesting question, englishman!
i definitely agree with wasasister, it just depends on the area you are in. what might be frowned upon in one hall, might be a d/f'ing offense in another.
LOL, dark clouds, i would have liked that pub after service ritual as well! might have been worth knocking on doors,...no, i guess not.-nate
"it is not to be presumed that the prince of darkness will suffer the binding influences of the new prince, which are now at work to fetter his power without a struggle.
his rage will spend its force in distressing mankind in various ways, for he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
" 1884wtwr 03 01 07. well, that is as it may be, but we can now say without a doubt that this "short time" which the watchtower taught back in 1884 was nearly over is still 117 years later - taught by the watchtower to be in progress... "all know something of the failure of brother miller's expectations.
focus-thanks for this interesting thread. i had no idea how much this confident phrase had been used. especially in light of so many failed prophesies. oh yeah, i forgot the WT GB doesn't prophesy. now how could i forget that?-nate
todays newspaper.
st-jerome, quebec, canada.
a quebec judge has ruled in favour of jehovah's witnesses in the challenge of a blainville bylaw requiring a permit for door to door visits of a religious nature.. justice jean crepeau said that to lump witnesses in with sales people is degrading.
they should at least need a permit if they are going to knock on doors before noon on the weekends.:)
sad person that i am, i posted this yesterday, but the post seems to have self destructed....... anyway, if anyone posted to the other thread wants to re-post to this one it would be much appreciated.
alright, this is one of those what was your favourite questions:.
when you were a witness (or even if youre still reluctantly attached like me), did you have a favourite kingdom melody (why couldnt they just be called hymns by the way)?.
riz-i'm getting my tongue ready right now. i'm not sure how the "dust" will taste, but, however bad it is, i think it's probably a lot better eating the "spiritual food" we were given while in the WT. and how come it always smelled like cabbage? i'm sure you know where i'm going with that.:)-nate
told by the elders yesterday that since i'm a official at a sports match on saturdays and i won't quit doing it (they mention it occasionally to me at meetings), that they won't be allowing me to get baptised the next assembly coming up.
it might matter if i was working 5 days a week but at the moment i'm only working 2 days......(i've already racked up 50 hours this month).
i remember a talk a while back with the theme "what prevents you from getting baptised?
RED CARD, RED CARD, RED CARD!!! the elders ought to be kicked off the "team" for that move, IMO. seriously though, sorry they are messing with you.-nate
when a girl reaches the age of puberty or physical maturity, her.

permitted, because the female is not in physical condition to breed.. the bull seems to understand this and keeps in his own place.
i hardly know what to say!!!! that is one of the most retarded articles i have ever read. i've also found it true, that, in the witness world, a man can fall into the same temptation without having to deal with shame, guilt, a ruined reputation, etc. men who sleep around have a "hard time controlling their urges", while women doing the same thing are generally looked at as "sluts". which stigma would you rather deal with? even when i expect it, the ignorance sometimes astounds me.-nate
after talkin in chat tonight....it has got me and a friend talkin about whether marijuana should be legalised.. my view...yes, .
i) who has the right to tell me what to do with my own body?.
ii) alcohol is a legalised drug....each year more deaths occur through alcohol abuse than marijuana usage.. iii) people smoke it anyway and the question is not bein addressed.. iv) it's great to get stoned!!!
well, by the time i ran into this thread, all the points i might have made have already been made. i think it's pretty obvious that almost anything in excess isn't very good for you. it's just funny to me how many people in society condemn pot users and have no problem with recreational drinkers. even though i do smoke tobacco too, i am not stupid enough to pretend that it is good for me, and while i understand the point made about smoking pot(the smoke being bad for you), i think it is a little different than smoking pot. the recreational pot smoker usually doesn't smoke nearly the amount that an average tobacco smoker does, and marijuana doesn't have those nasty additives to make it more addictive, either. i'm not pretending that the only reason i ever smoke weed is for medicinal purposes, but i regularly get really bad insomnia(have since i was a little kid), and pot definitely helps me fall asleep naturally, without having trouble waking up in the morning. i think it's really silly that pot is still illeagal, it doesn't seem to stop anyone that wants to use it. partying it up with drinks can be a lot of fun, but i'd much rather smoke bud instead, plus, i don't feel like crap in the morning.:) one thing i totally agree with is that balance is the key to not letting anything "become" your life, instead of just being a "part" of it.:)-nate
happy b-day, harmony!
who did you have beheaded?
it's obvious that's what birthdays are all about.
happy birthday, dig!!!!
someone sent this to me and it reminded me of your question, 'when someone asks how old you are 'when do people stop saying there amost...?'.
