by Theocratic Sedition in4/1/1967 wt.
for years, modern civilization has used the commercially available product known as toilet paper to cleanse one's rear posterior.
it is a common practice that has permeated almost all** of the inhabited earth.

Facebook 101, Help for Faders
by Gojira_101 ini know i'm going to get bagged on for this, but i'm really just trying to help those who are fading if they have facebook or are on any social media outlets.. first off let's review.. .com stands for commercial.

Nice comments everyone!
That is exactly my point! There have been times when Facebook did an update and ALL of my settlings went back to the default. There was no warning or anything! So periodically I just check my settlings to make sure they are still at what they should be!
I know everyone is riled up over the whole AAWA thing, and I have happily left that topic alone, no matter what I say no one would listen to me, but like what reopened mind said....So the bottom line is: Whatever you don't want everyone to see, don't put on the Internet especially Facebook.
This is the sad and scary truth of what happens when someone goes on a social media. I know of someone who was involved in a smear campaign from his soon to be ex-wife....He lost a lot of friends because his wife was spreading lies on Facebook and he didn't even have a Facebook account to know what she was saying...it didn't turn out good at all and he is still suffering from it.
and like what undercover said you can't intermingle two lives into one social network and not expect some risk of exposure.
That is exactly my point!
Thank you!

My act of REBELLION
by Gojira_101 inwell a picture says a thousand words!
i had a tattoo done today.. it was actually interesting because as i was chit chatting with the tattoo artist, she asked me if this tattoo symbolized anything....well actually it does i told her.. me: i was a jw and they are strongly against tattoos or anything that is really "normal" for people.. tattoo artist: i know all about jw, my ex-girlfriend's family was all jw, and i remember one time going over to her parents house and her grandma sat us both down and made us read some scriptures from her bible as to why we were going to hell.. me: actually you will due at armageddon, that is the jw thing.. tatt artist: oh right that is what her grandma said.
i forgot about that, you're right.. so then the rest of the conversation was just me telling her it's a cult and i told her never listen to any jw who comes knocking.. something else interesting that happened just before i came on here.

Finally awake:
Thank you! And the pain isn't that bad at all. I was freaking out a little the night before, but then I watched a video on Youtube and seen how they actually tattoo and it's not what you think at all. My mom has always felt the same way as you, she wanted one but is afraid of the pain, after she saw one of the video's I sent her she said "oh, it's not that bad at all, I actually thought the guy was drawing on her with a marker. It took me a minute to realize it was the actual tattoo"
It's not as bad as you think it is :)

ExWhyZee:
Thank you for your concern and I do understand where you are coming from. If you will noticed in my original post I never once used "REBELLION" the reason I put that in my topic heading is to get people to read my post. I've come to realize if there isn't a juicy title, people don't read or comment on my posts. I'm not sure if you misunderstood my original post, but I have wanted a Tattoo since I was 16. I never got a tatto because it was against what Watchtower believed and taught, so like a good little witness I followed Watchtower teachings with regards to tattoo's.
I have officially been "out" or "inactive" for 6 months. That is when I stopped turning in service time (even though I wasn't going in service I still put down an hour to shut the elders up ). I've been on the fence for years though, I would go regular to meetings for awhile, then would stop and just listen on the phone hook-up, then go back to meetings and service...then about 2 years ago I went to a meeting and nearly passed out because of all the perfume and I have serious reactions to the perfumes and all the chemicals people use when they go to meetings. So that was my last one for almost 2 years. Then my husband and I moved to the city and some of our JW friends told us that their Hall doesn't use any harsh cleaning products and the people don't wear perfume or cosmetic products with chemical..So my husband and I went to 2 meetings and I still got sick and almost passed out. So that was it for me. I said I would never step foot in another Hall again. That was actually a month before I learned TTATT. After that my husband and I would just listen on the phone hook-up until our good friend who recommended their Hall was giving a talk on why 607 is right. I actually became physically sick and almost threw up while listening to his talk. That was the last meeting I listened to.
So yes it has only been officially 6 months out for me, but I really "checked out" of being a JW years ago when I became more sick from chemicals and I didn't see the so-called love that is supposed to be there and my so-called friends started to ignore me, like what happened to me after I said enough the last time I went to the Hall. My good friends haven't talked to me since.
Yes there was "rebellion" with me getting a tattoo, but it was rebellion against Watchtower because they no longer have any control over me to tell me what to do. Really because I got a tattoo, I did go against watchtower did I not? I broke one of their commandments, did I not? To be honest since I was a born-in, my whole life I have been repressing my true self because things I liked or enjoyed are things Watchtower said are evil, and I don't mean drugs or anything like that. I mean movies, music, video games, hobby's...etc. This summer I will turn 30, and it will be the first time to celebrate my birthday, something I have always wanted to do, but couldn't because it was against Watchtower commandments, so because I am celebrating my birthday does that make me a rebel? I will celebrate my parents and husband's birthdays this year, does that make me a rebel? I will give my mom and dad gifts on mother's and father's day, does that make me rebellious?
I have never used drugs or smoked, and I still refuse to, so just because I'm "rebellious" against Watchtower, there are still some things I refuse to do. But my "rebelliousness" against Watchtower is the fact they are no longer controlling my life. Since my husband and I have left, we are finally enjoying having non-JW friends, we are doing things we have never done before like just hanging out with non-JW friends.
I know you posted on this thread but read it again... http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/249567/1/My-life-of-Debauchery-since-leaving-WTBT24-They-were-right, nothing has changed accept for me getting a tattoo.
And maybe I will regret getting it when I get older, but at least I will have something else to regret other than the fact I wasted the first 30 yrs of my life being in Watchtower.
I do really appreciate your comment and I know you mean no harm and actually it warms my heart that someone who doesn't even know me cares...I sent you a PM
My dad (brother of the hawk) has already replied to your concerns about him...I haven't read it yet.
Peace.

@ LisaRose: That is what this tattoo represents, freedom from WT, that is why I was crying last night because I finally feel free. There is no way I'm ever going back, even if it means I get my family back.
@ ADCMS: Nice catch, I never realized TaTToo was so close to TTATT, guess it was meant to be, huh? And actually my dad had his ear pierced about 10 years ago when he was still an uber duber J-dud. Still not sure what he was thinking, but he never got df'ed for it. LOL. It's funny because I had a fader friend say they were surprised I got such a large tattoo. I say if I'm going to go through it, why not get a big one :)
@Aunt Fancy: That would be awesome to get, but just remember the tattoo will be on forever, so no do-overs...lol. Plus I don't know, having anything tattooed on resembling WT makes me feel icky all over. LOL.
@whathappened: Who said it was easy? It certainly hasn't been easy. my grandma I was very close to won't talk to me at all and I've lost everyone but my parents and husband...I just choose to not let it bother me anymore because I need to move on with my life and now I'm glad it happened the way it did because they forced me out of WT and I don't have to deal with the heartache and torture of trying to still stay in so I don't lose them. This was all their doing. I know I sound brave now, but it is still hard, trust me!!! Weekends are the worst because that is when I would talk to my grandma.
@ sooner7c: Yes freedom is awesome, but the alternative (going back) is hell on earth.

First off let's review.
.com stands for commercial
.net stands for network
....etc.
So Facebook.com is a commercial site, meaning they are trying to sell you something....or specialized advertising trying to get you to buy something because of your browsing history. Have you ever noticed how some of the ads on the side of Facebook are things that you have looked up? Yes, every website you visit is recorded and tracked and then used to fit advertising to YOU. There is no privacy on the internet.
Since Facebook is a commercial entity they don't care what they share, even without your permission. If you are trying to fade always remember that ANYTHING you do on Facebook WILL be seen!
Yes you can have all of your privacy settings set to the highest security, but guess what? Things still get out! That is the nature of Facebook!
I got an email from a JW friend before I left WT and she was offended and went off on me because of the music I was listening to....I have no idea what she was talking about. I made sure not to share any music video's or not "like" any music...etc, so I checked everything! It wasn't until I was on my mom's Facebook and I was showing her something and my "activity" showed up on her Wall and sure enough it had the last several songs I listened to on a different website. Later I went onto my Facebook and there it was, my Playlist from a totally different website showed up on my Facebook. I have no idea how it got there, I never gave any permission for this site to show my playlist, but there is was for all my friends to see.
Another example: I was friends with a JW and we grew up together, but we didn't talk beyond Facebook, so I get an email from a mutual friend grilling me as to why I'm friends with someone who is DF'd? This friend of mine became an apostate and turned lesbain....etc. I'm sure you can figure out the rest.
I also can't tell you how many times I have been added to Facebook groups over the years, and to this day I have no idea who forced added me. It certainly wasn't me doing it accidental, and I questioned my friends and they were added without their permission also....it happens!!!!! So you know what, I didn't start reaching out to the ex-JW community on my Facebook until ALL the JW were deleted from my Facebook. But I also do know I'm taking a risk because my profile picture is my real face and my real name and all it takes is the right person who knows this friend of a friend and guess what? I'm outed!!!! But this is my risk I'm taking and I just don't care anymore if someone figures out my identity. If you are trying to keep your identity hidden...well it's common sense really.
Lastly, all the time my friend's friends are showing up on my Facebook asking if I know them and want to be friends with this person "X" So even your friends list on Facebook isn't safe because Facebook will then show those people to others and ask if you want to be friends. Can you see where I'm going with this? If you are friends with JW and ex-JW's on the same Facebook profile, Facebook will then show your ex-JW friends to your JW friends and try to get them to be friends. Can you see how this is dangerous if you are fading?
My advice for any faders. You CANNOT be friends with JW's and ex-JW's on the same Facebook profile, you are just asking for trouble!!!!!! It WILL come back and bite you on the backside.
Yes you can set your privacy settings to where ONLY your friends can see things, but did you also know that sometimes other people who are not your friends can see your activity? Yup! That is the beauty of Facebook. Nothing you do on there is ever really private.
If you want to stay in touch with your family and JW friends, and reach out to Ex-JW's, then make two separate Facebook's. That is what I did months ago. One for your JW side and one for your apostate friends. If you are choosing to leave WT through the fading way, you have to be careful and I hate to say it but you have to be paranoid and think that everyone is out to get you, because we all know even our own family can turn on us thinking they are doing the right thing by going to the elders.
You just have to be smart about it. Anything you say or do can and will be used against you in a court of law JC meeting. Even if you are fading remember, you are the enemy of ALL JW's and we all know our closest friends or family can turn on us.
If you have any questions you can PM me, but the only thing I can say again, is any social media outlet you are on ALL have this risk.
I interpreted a computer security class last semester and after each class I was just sick from the fact that whenever I'm on the intertnet EVERYTHING I do is being tracked and monitiored and there is no privacy. I'm not a computer expert, but I know enough to know how dangeruos this internet can be.
Let the arrows fly, I'm going to bed.

Got an interview
by LouBelle inas some of you know, i had no job last year, then finally got something in an industry that i know nothing about.
the environment and people haven't been the best, but i had to stick it out and hope that things would improve.
i have kept my eye and ears open for opportunities more in my field of expertise - which is print advertising.. i sent through my cv for a job i saw advertised in the newspaper for an advertising sales rep - applied and now i have an interview to go too tomorrow.. i've learnt not to get my hopes up - i am glad for the interview and i hope it goes well..

Thank you everyone, I'm hooked now, I'm thinking of having it go over my shoulder and down my arm now.
OnTheWayOut: That would be an awesome tattoo! Let's hope your wife wakes up soon!
*lost*: Now that I'm out, when I hear stories like this, it makes me so sad to think I was just like the JW's. I'm just glad I'm out!!!! Are you going to get a tattoo? or do you already have one?
