Well as the title says it. I had 3 Mormons "call" on me a few minutes ago. This is the first time being on the other side of the door knocking. I actually feel sorry for them right now. Pretty much everything they said I about their Book of Mormon, I was able to debunk because of actually know the Bible. In a nice way I told them they are very much like the JW's and I'm not going to leave one cult for another....and when I tried to hand the Book of Mormon back to them (I had taken it to flip through it and then I tried to give it back), first they wouldn't take it and now I'm stuck with a book of Mormon. I wish I had learned that stratagy as a JW (hand the book to the householder to look at and then refuse to take the book back), I would have been able to place more books! And then second one of them was talking about how their Mr Smith is a prophet of God....etc.

So these are the questinos I asked them.

Do you believe Jesus is the son of God?

Yes, yes, yes (that was the 3 of them answering)

Do you believe God sent him?

Yes, yes, yes

Do you believe Jesus was crucified and died for all men?

Yes, yes, yes.

Do you believe Jesus was a perfect man?

Yes, yes, yes

Do you believe Jesus was the greatest prophet then that God could have sent to us?

Yes, yes,....(shaking his head no), nnnnnahh...yes

So if Jesus was the greatest and most perfect prophet God could send and the people of Jesus time killed him, why would God send any other prophet when he has already sent the most perfect and greatest prophet?

The guy who started to say no to my question of Jesus being a prophet started rambling on about something...I stopped listening...but it was interesting the other Elder Mormon I could tell he was thinking about what I said and then you could see the light of understanding or comprehension go off.

As I was listening to them, it was like deja vu to what the JW have been cramming down my throat....If it wasn't for the nice little elder badges I would have thought I was talking to JW's.

I actually feel pretty good that I was able to hold my own against 3 Mormon's

hello everyone, just wanted to say hi and introduce myself.. i am a mid 30's just stepped aside elder, who just couldn't handle it anymore.. i am a 3rd generation born-in and former pioneer and bethelite.

it has been a log somewhat confusing ride for me, but i am finally settling in to realizing that i need to really look at what me and my family are doing.. .

its funny though what really got me here... it wasn't the 40 year old men telling me they were looking at boobies on the computer and hoping not to get in trouble, it wasn't the watching young people bail left and right, it wasn't the ever changing new light etc... but a simple thought.. .

Welcome soso! I pray for God to help you on your journey. It's a hard one and you experience the whole range of emotions. New Enlightened is actually my mother and her and my father were so scared to talk to me and my husband, but I am so thankful they did because I've been having my doubts for years and what they showed me were actually things I doubted. It's hard when you still have family in. My husband was very sick in the beginning, but now we feel so free under the yolk of Jesus, he really was right in saying that about taking his yolk...you do feel free. I never felt free having to get xx number of hours in service. Even as a regular pioneer, I still felt like I was going to die at Big A...I just say take your time and some people wake up right away and some people need time to wake up. What I've come to realize is most JW's have questions and doubts but they are so afraid to talk about it because of fear of losing their family, being DF...etc. Maybe just starting asking your family some personal questions or pay attention to things they say and you might be able to pick up on something you can use to wake them. You have time on your side, so use it. I honestly believe Jesus is seperating the sheep from the goats right now because people are not just leaving the WT right now. Just this past week 5 different people I know have said they are leaving their church. Did not Jesus say he would call his sheep and they listen his voice (or something around those lines, I'm still waking up this morning :), I think Jesus is calling his sheep right now. I pray for you and your family soso. It's a hard journey, but you will find the answers if you pray and read the bible :) Also jwfacts is an interesting place. I find it funny that the WT is so afraid of the internet and these so-called apostate sites. I've always believe the "REAL TRUTH" would stand up to lies and scrutiny and the more I reseached the WT, their "truth" crumbled away and I realized the the "real truth" is the bible. Just remember who your real shephard is and you will know his voice :) G

Welcomed MSconcerned. I pray to God for you to help on your journy.

Believe it or not, most of the people on here aren't true apostates. If you look in the dictionary on what an apostate means, you will see a "true" apostate is one who goes against God basically. The WTS has everyone believing if you goes against them it equals going against God. The ironic things is, the WTS is the true apostate because they are going against God and now are very close to even denying his son.

I haven't read any of the other comments, but a good book to read if Crisis of Conscience by Ray Franz, he was an ex GB member. I haven't read it yet, but my parents have and have told me things in the book. I'm going to start reading it today. Also check out jwfacts. Both of these are real eye openers.

I hope now you can find your way back to God and his Son, its' a hard journy, but it's worth it! And the peace that comes over you will provve you are on the right path back to Gods favor. It's going to be hard but don't lose your faith in the Almighty!

i'm a new member & i'd like to say hi to everyone, intoducing myself.. i am a 3rd generation born-in at mid 50's & an active elder.. english is not my mother language, so pls ignore any grammatical errors.

i live in a small country in europe.. i'd like to thank you for all information posted.

some of them have rally helped me to understand and examine again my beliefs.. last new light concerning f&ds=gb has verified the idea that they are popes in the position op pope.. i still believe in god & in his son jesus christ but not in the gb..

The "new light" on the F&DS=GB is one of the many reason's why I myself have left and I think we are going to see more and more people joining us here because of that.

I'm so glad to hear you haven't lost your faith in God and his Son. That is the one thing that will sustain you and reading his word the Bible.

Should Jehovah's Witnesses be added to the Wikipedia article on Doomsday Cults?

there is discussion of doomsday cults at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/doomsday_cult, and much of it aligns closely with watchtower predictions and behaviour, so i was wondering why jehovah's witnesses are not mentioned.

When Did You Stop Attending The Memorial At the Hall? Celebrate L.E.M. With Friends Online?

i am still new to the business of fading and once i stop attending the memorial with all the dubs around me, my former friends will definitly put my shepherding call on hold.

i am sure some of the friends faded quick and never turn their back toward the kingdom hall again.

i am curious if others took a longer approach to fading and dropping off completly.

I'm still in the process of fading myself and the issue of the memorial has been something I've been desperately praying about and reading in the bible.

I will not go back to the K.H. because I can't associate with people who are liars and after reading the bible on what Jesus commended his followers to do and praying about it. I have come to the conclusion that all of Jesus followers are to partake. Not just the 144,000.

I'm not telling you want to do, I'm just sharing what I'm going to do. I'm going to make a nice meal that night and my husband and I are going to show our appreciation for the sacrifice at home and we are going to be partaking.

The best advice I can give you is read the bible accounts of the Lord's Evening Meal and pray about it. You still have time to figure out what to do, so don't be in a rush. But that is what my husband and I did and my parents also did the same thing. My parents are fading too :)

I pray for the Spirit to guide you.
