Far out - that was an amazing read - very moving .. the first point about the demonised ballooon was very funny (but not really I know).
We're so lucky to have you girl ((((((((jojo)))))))
well.......i figured it's about time to tell my story...bear with me, it's close to bedtime and i'll probably have to break this up.... .
i was born on may 22, 1985 into a family full of dubs minus the dad...my father never had much to do w/ religion.
after that, it's pretty much blank, except for what was recounted to me by family members..

for me anyways.. i still have nightmares about demon attacks.
that was the one belief that really had a grip on me growing up.
i was terrified of demons and even thought i was being attacked one night for bringing home a toy with a pagan symbol (ying-yang) on it.
I stopped worrying about demons a long time ago. My favorite movie is the Devil's Advocate.
Then how come you still go to bed with the light on?
hello everyone.. i am new to this forum...at least i think i am...i swear that i joined before and left a message...but maybe i was just dreaming.. anyway, i am, what seems to be termed in this forum, a fading jw.
my wife is still a jw and when i try to talk to her she will go on about me becoming an apostate, but i have learnt so much about the wtbts these last few months that fading and leaving is so easy for me now.
i know that there is a lot of hate and false stuff said about the wtbts but also a lot of things are true, like the famous ngo business and being a shareholder of a company that produces parts that are used in weapons.
Re: Hello, I am new here...I think!?!?!?

No, ya silly bugger----you spray a croc in the eyes with it, just before he tries taking a big chomp out of you!!!
...and if there's a park ranger watching you serve 5 years in a Darwin jail

You're causing flashbacks Jamelle.
Tell ya how stoopid I was. Once, when I was about 12, I spent hours in bed scared stiff of a weird noise - a combination of squeals and muffled voices .. this went on for hours.. at about 7am my mother called out "come on, you'll be late for school" With that I summond up the courage to slowly get out of bed. Imagine how I felt on finding my small transistor radio under my pillow on but slighty off station! ... demons never worried me so much after that.

a freind of mine who doesnt go to meetings and his wife (but the troof has a firm grip on their thinking) were quizing me on why i dont make my way back to the meetings.
well i explained the un thing and quotes website and i have a problem with those things and if it could be sorted out id come back.
at one stage of the conversation it almost got heated (which is understandable as its a touchy subject for anyone who still beleives)
Bill Cuthill was 'raised in the truth' and the Adelaide City Servant at the time and was lost for words (and wouldn't work that area for over a year lol.
Bro. Rouse didn't last long ... though his family are still JW's, he kinda driffted away toward spiritistic mysticism
:::
EDIT CORRECTION: Bro Rouse's actual words were "If you don't take these bloody magazines I'm gonna stick them up your arse!" (whispered with menaces).

I'd be freaked out too......if I were travelling through Australia, I'd be armed with plenty of pepper spray.......you can get it on eBay for pretty cheap.
LOL - that's ridiculous Mary, tell me you're joking! - OK in the city ... maybe ... but the only thing pepper spray is good for in the bush is for spay'n on yer bbq chops.
