two basic polarities.

would someone care to please define them, and the difference between them?.

Define good and evil? That isn't easy, though I too enjoyed expatbrits concise answer and the other responses including yours. We indeed creat God/s in our image (an undeniable universal truth) This is an area I am yet to explore but I'd say 'good' is most often in the eye of the beholder, 'evil' is a bit more complicated but both are by-products of natures strategies for creation (intricately woven into our most basic biological fabric*) The problem becomes more complicated when we consider humans in groups and cultures. Most often united societal life lessens incidents of crime and 'evil' but, given the right circumstances, our most violent aggressive instincts burst out with horrendous results.

Free Photo Drama Daily!

i have a question.. the wts likes to boast about the "photo drama" produced from 1912 and shown in 1914 onwards.

there is an article again on this subject in the jan 15, 2001 watchtower (yes, i know i am milking that one watchtower i have for all it's worth!)..

a couple of comments and then my question.

a close relative of mine, lets call her auntie lou, has been a devout witness for over 50 years.

now when i say devout, i mean a blind, unquestioning obedience to the wtbts.

Just dropping in to say I think Leonard Coherns recent albums are much better than his old stuff. If you get a chance to check out "I'm your man" and "The Future" (both released about 1990) you won't be disappointed.

Was I the FDS ?

just a thought.... at my recent meeting with the elders they accused me of being of the 'evil slave class'.

i responded that there were not two classes as the scripture said "but if that slave..." ie.

it was still talking about the same person or class.. now, if they claim that i have become the evil slave then i must, at some point, have been the faithful and discreet slave.. but, i have never claimed to by such and i'm sure that if it was somehow bestowed upon me that i would realise it (although apparently, the governing body didn't realise it for many years, but that's a separate topic).. are they twisting scriptures to suit themselves?

Very interesting stuff. Completely different tack to Laurence Gardners work on the shewbread and its 'white powder gold' origins. So maybe it was mushroom bread that was kept in the Ark of the Covernant (Moses invented the esky? ;)

I love visual, non verbal humour. (my father and uncles were expert at it and they'd have all sorts of practical jokes going at the same time with barely a word spoken) Silly things like once I was sitting between my father and uncle driving along in a truck. Dad was driving, uncle gives me a wink and slowly winds his window down. I glance at Dad and see he is going red and starting to freeze as the cold air scoots around the back window and hits the back of his head from uncle Lyles window. A few minutes later Dad very slowly winds up his window. Another minute goes by and uncle Lyle suddenly winds his up very fast. After another minute or so Dad, with a broad grin on his face slowly winds his up.

silent victories are the best, cheers unclebruce.

PS: I'll show the misses that photo and am thinking of making one of those for the tourists to this place. ;)

G'day all,

7of9 you're a riot! (those cartoons cracked me up) I was in a book shop today and since I don't know any jokes I thought I'd buy a joke book. I swear this is true (freaked me out a bit) There was a big book of Australian jokes and at the first page I opened was this:

Q: "What do you get if you cross an Athiest with a Jehovah's Witness?"

A: "Someone who knocks on your door for nothing."

I groaned and moved to the history section.

Hey don't apologise for your tastes we are all different - I love native music - just not the pan-pipes. 'Tuvan throat music' is incredible (traditional Mongolian - I'm a good imitator and can make a lot of unique sounds but couldn't copy that) Most of my music makes everyone run for cover. As I get older I like it slower and deeper (Elvis Costello, Nick Cave and Leonard Cohern must be aquired tastes - the misses likes Chris Isaak though)

I've been spending my computer time all over the net. This board is the coolest. (great bunch of folks here - just gotta learn how to post properly (only just got used to cool boards)
