Need help from someone who still goes to the KH
by Unclepenn1 inhello, i havent posted in a while, but have been a member here for a long time, and even back when h20 was going on as well.
i am in the process of writing a book about the watchtower, but need some help from someone who is still in the org, and still goes to the kingdom hall.
i need some materials for research, and was hoping that someone could help me.

Whatever the case, I thought this would be easier. I know they would want to deliver it with some JW's and they would recognize the address as an opposer- I presume.

Hello, I havent posted in a while, but have been a member here for a long time, and even back when H20 was going on as well. I am in the process of writing a book about the Watchtower, but need some help from someone who is still in the org, and still goes to the Kingdom Hall. I need some materials for research, and was hoping that someone could help me. I need to get the latest CD Rom that was released by the Watchtower, as well as The Watchtower and Awake! Bound Volumes for the years 2002-2004. I would also like to get the most recent book that was released this summer, if possible. I am willing to pay whatever you think is fair, since I really need these materials, and am unable to go to a KH myself. If you can help, post a reply or email me privately. I would appreciate it. Warm regards, Unclepenn1 Email to [email protected]

I hope this memorial doesnt backfire ...........
by fleaman uk inwell, ive decided to go tomorrow night after all.not to my local cong but another one in the city where i have a very good friend and a few distant family members.i dont agree with much of the orgs teachings or promotions, but i do believe in jesus and really just have a very, very powerful urge to pay my respects to him.. i have been telling my "worldly"girlfriend about the religion and naturally, she is quite interested as this was part of my life since an early age.. blow me down she really wants to come with me!so when she walks into the hall tomorrow and gets a very warm welcome it will possibly shock her, after some of the stranger stories i have told her about the faith(vague stories including no xmas, disfellowshipping,no after school activities etc).i have told her that the welcome she receives will be warm and imho genuine too.she is quite a spiritual person anyway and will enjoy the occasion.. my worry would be that she will enjoy it too much and go to a follow up.it is quite probable.she has never had anything to do with jw,s before, till going out with yours truly .. i,m interested in your comments?.
thanks for listening.

If you want to honor Jesus, than stay away from the Kingdom Hall. They have the wrong Jesus, my friend. The Jesus of the Bible is not Michael the Archangel. Try a Protestant service this weekend perhaps, one with real worship and real homage to Jesus. Just my 2c., Penn

Michael Moore where are you!
by mkr32208 innot that i like him but he does know how to sway the masses!
anybody know how we could get him to do a documentry about the wbts?

Yes, we do need someone to make a film about the borg...but how about using someone who isn't a total liar? I mean, we could make a film about Moore! (oops, I think it has already been done) Someone reliable would be great, but who?!

A "first-timers" ponderings...
by upside/down ini accidentally posted this improplerly so i'll try again.... i'm a "first-timer"- so please be gentle ( or at least use lube).
can we try and look at the bible's message without any preconcieved notions that we've been fed?
read it as if we've been lost on a desert island our whole life- what would we come away with?

Logansrun, I think you need to re-read my post. I am aware of when they were written, but my point was for that time period, that was very recent. (I even used Mohammed as an example). What ad hominem?

Hey Upside/Down, I think your insights are refreshing., Thanks for the posts.
Logansrun, I am afraid that you cannot find historical information on Jesus in the same way that a thief cannot find a police officer. Saying that since Jesus didnt write anything, ergo, we cannot say for sure if he really taught those things, causes us to have to throw out all of ancient history, if that is to be the litmus test. The fact that you state that the gospels were written decades after the fact reveals that you know little to nothing about textual criticism. Find me any other ancient writings that are written that close to the events. There may be a few, but that was not normative. In comparison, the teachings of Mohammed were not written down for 6 centuries after the events took place. Not trying to start a flame war, but I believe that you pick and choose your evidnce that you want to believe and ignore what you already reject. You are free to do that, I just thought I would point that out.
