i have a question about my religion.
when people turn apostate, why do they seem kinda... weird.
they turn back to false teachings and their bible knowledge even proves that.
If there was a God out there somewhere that was so concerned about his name why wouldn't he let us know what it really was? We can't pronounce his real name, when we say Jehovah it isn't his name, just an english translation of some Hebrew letters that can't be pronounced by anyone today. He is just in the imagination of humans who has no idea of what God is unless he reads some other men's written word from long ago. God hasn't spoken to men in thousands of years, what's up with him???

i just had an interesting conversation, though frustrating, with a student about the subject of faith.
i have never heard a definition for faith that i could understand.
every conversation i have had on the subject has only fallen short of establishing what it is.
Faith is about like a little child thinking Santa is coming at Christmas. They have been told it is going to happen by someone they trust and they have faith it will happen. The only difference is Christ is comming .........don't know when, but he is comming soon. You had better be a good little child or you won't get your present from Santa or Christ when he comes. One is about as true as the other.

It's strange that I can't spell good myself but can recognize spelling errors in what others write. I can even see my own spelling errors but have to look up the word to spell it correctly. I think my brain is about to go bonkers.

i'm just getting back from the toronto fest.. more beautiful people one could not wish to find.. thanks to all, and in particular bumble bee and memario, for hosting.. while i was away, i see that trev lost linda.. my heart is broken.. and i see some stuff about dannyh hurting some elderly brothers?.
this board is so important to us supporting one another.. i think it's about love.. may we never allow ourselves to be consumed with hate or dedicate our lives to destroying something.. it's not hard to do if we dwell on what we lost.
but we win in so many ways when we celebrate the life we have now and new beginnings instead of hanging on to the past.. that's the best "revenge".. we all need to vent.. it's a critical part of deprogramming.. but i'm thankful to the good friends on here that gave me a heads-up when they saw me heading towards bitterness.
A very good question. When I look forward I don't see very much to look forward to at my age, but that might be because I feel a little depressed lately. I look back and see so much I have loved in past years. I still live in the same area I and my family grew up in and I drive past so many old memories. I had a great life, even though I was a JW for the first 38 years of it. So many of my relatives are dead now but I still think of them as I drive past their old houses where they lived. I have no bad feelings toward the JWs I knew as friends but don't like the way the borg has lied to us over the years.
I guess what matters now is enjoy what is left of my life. I'm heading over to the bowling alley and play some pool with my DF'd brother and bowl in the senior games.

i have yet to find a christian that can truly explain the bodily reserrection of christ doctrine.
they become so confused after a few minutes that many of them will try to change the subject on you.
i was talking to a born-again co-worker of mine about this very subject and after 15 minutes of going over scriptures he said "you know booker-t i have never really swallowed the bodily reserrection doctrine but this is what my church teaches.
I was just wondering what life is? Christ was supposedly reincarnated into a human from a spirit. What happened to the spirit person when he was put into Mary's womb to be born as a human and was still supposedly Christ and also a direct decendent of David. It seems more like a fairy tale than a real happening. I just can't seem to believe in Jesus anymore, it just doesn't make sense to me. I can see why the Christains say we just need to have faith in that tale, since any reasonable explaination isn't there.

here's an interesting question about "satan" and "god".
recently, i have been studying some material that suggests that "satan" in the hebrew is never defined as a rebellious angel, that only comes in revelation (greek) later.
in the ot, satan and yhwh are the same being in certain circumstances.
This is why I think you can prove about any concept you want by reading certain scriptures. It is so darn confusing. Each religion just ignores what ever it wants to in the bible and just reads what upholds it's view of God and what he says to them. Amen and may God, Jesus or Satan bless you and give you peace in your soul, etc. Raise you hands and say praise God and go up to the alter and get saved, and you are heaven bound. (It's strange that no one wants to die and go there though.)
