I hate death!

i just recieved an email about the death of one of my friends that i sail my r/c boat with.

that is the fifth one of my sailing friends that have died in the last 5 years.

in the last 4 years my wife's mother and father died, her brother-in-law, nephew, my aunt, my son's close friend, his wife's grandad, and it goes on and on.

I don't know how I could handle the death of a brother or sister, especially by suicide. One of my best friends shot himself about 7 years ago and I still miss him. Life can dish out some very harse blows. I guess all we can do is say goodby and continue on. I'm really sorry for your loss and hope nothing like that happens to you again. We need to take advantage of every oportunity to enjoy our loved ones while we can, sometimes we forget how quickly things can change.

I thank you all for the kind thoughts, I feel better already. Tomorrow will be another day and I will find something to do that will take my mind off death, at least that is my intention.

Hi Wendy,

Thanks for the invitation, the next time I'm up that way I'll stop by. My wife is sick today, not life threatening, but she's having breathing problems. My new little grandaughter is also sick with the croup. It hasn't been one of my better days. Tomorrow I hope will be better.

Thanks for the caring words of encouragement. I worked in the yard most of the day and the grass and flowers makes me feel better. I love setting in my backyard swing and reading or just relaxing. The earth is a beautiful work of art.

Hi All,

My friend from work wife also died recently.

When I see how hard it is for them to adjust their lives it makes me sad. Death sucks.

This is nothing new to us all, but I just feel sad as I think of all these people.

for instance, verse 21 foretells the occasion when jesus was offered gall to drink as he hung from the torture stake.

Welcome back. Now if we could get Bibleman back to expond the chronology and you the interpretation of far fetched scripture we would have it made. What was the last prediction you made that would start the battle, I forgot? Oh well, it doesn't matter you will just start another one pretty soon, and you may very well get lucky, as the world is in danger from so many different things now.

Keep it coming YK, someday someone might really believe something you say.

well it was time again for me to take my weekly dose of apostate faeces and see what it tastes like.

decided to check out randy watters this time (we all love him here) and his little testimony on freeminds.org, titled "what happened at bethel in 1980?

Hi Stillin,

The problem I see with trying to follow the instructions in Matt. 10 is he said to cure sick people, raise the dead etc. He also said to stay in their homes and don't work but let the people feed you. I didn't see anything about magazines or books or turning in a time slip to record how many hours you spent in this work or the amount of times you called back etc.

All the instructions and predictions of Christ have been changed in modern times to suit the paticular religion explaining them. To those he said would see his return, they died without seeing it happen. The anticipation of soon has run into many hundreds of years. Those who claim to be chosen by him have also failed to make good on their predictions of soon he would come again, they had to say it was invisible to get around admitting their error.

Stick with it if you choose, but you are in for a great disappointment as you see you life fade away as I have, with nothing happening that is remotely connected with your dreams of the end comming soon. You have been taken in by your desire to live forever in a "new world". If it happens I give you permission to say,"I told you so."

As far as works go, pay attention to the good Samaritan example of Jesus. Maybe he would rather had a few magazines thrown at him? I don't think so.

Atheists/Agnostics/Prayer

on the subject of prayer: this is addressed to the more atheistic or agnostic ones amongst us.. now, all those years i prayed really hard when times were tough, and then things worked out.

i now believe it was my own hard work that gave the solutions.

prayer was helpful in that i felt i had help.

Hi Mark,

The only real fear I have of dying is leaving my children, I want to be here to be of whatever help I can to them. Also my wife needs what little financial help I give her also. I've resolved the idea that it is comming pretty soon since I'm 65 and counting.

I have no concept of what is past this life, if anything. It seems man is just part of nature and we just go back to dust. It seems whatever spirit we have is just the brain waves as they descipher the input from our five senses. What causes our emotions or character seems to be the chemical content of our body and the life expierences we may have had. It would be really great if we do have some future source of life but I really doubt it, but I could be wrong as I can't prove what I can't see and observe.

Hi All,

I've been attending a little church group with my wife and the pastor has a special time where people request prayer. It's interesting to watch the request and see what the outcome of all the prayer is.
So far many have died who were prayed for, some have improved then got worse, some have got better as a natural pattern of nature. If all the prayers were directed to a tree the same results would have been attained. When the prayed for get worse they say God has a purpose for it, in other words He can't lose no matter the outcome it is always God's will. My question is why pray if God's will is going to be done anyway and we can't change it?

There may be a God out there somewhere, but right now he must be on vacation or something. I can't complain for myself as I have had a wonderful life but am getting a little anxious as I know it can't continue forever. I don't attribute it to God but just as Soloman says "time and chance".

the may 15 2000 watchtower page 4 indicated that scholars at the jesus seminar had concluded that 82% of all the words attributed to jesus in the gospels were not authentic but 'derived from later tradition'.. it is difficult to say for yourself but i do find it remarkable that pauls letters do not contain any references to jesus' life, history or more importantly his teachings.

the sermon the mount, lords prayer or the golden rule etc.

do not get a mention in his words to fledgling congregations.

Paul did mention Christ words at Acts 20:35. Where he got this quote is not known, since it's not in the gospels.

was it ezicle who said the eventuality of man is the same as for the animal, as one dies so does the other.

or something like that.. man has to die because he sinned, that's the price one has to pay.

what sins have animals committed?

According to the writer of Genesis there was a tree of life in the middle of the garden of Eden, this suggest man would have to eat from it before he could live forever, God then invented the sword to keep man from eating from it, which suggest there was something about it's fruit that could give humans everlasting life.

It all sounds like a lot of folklore to me.
