Just what does it mean to be alive spiritually? Do we have a spiritual part of our being, contrary to the teaching of the Org.
Is not your spiritually just some thoughts that you have been fed by someone else who thinks they are spiritual advisors.

What happens to your spirituality when you get mentally diseased, or injured to the head and can't think normally?

How do we know that there is such a thing as a spirit? It would seem that there would be some evidence of a spirit, sort of like the wind when you can feel the breeze. Why would an angel need wings as the bible depicts at times? Why would spirits need humans to inhabit as described by the bible and then ask for pigs when they couldn't stay in the man in the graveyard, then when in the swine jump over the cliff?

Spirituality, what is it?

Hi Friday,

How can you explain God's love in view of ticks, fleas, mosquitos, viruses, parasites, which plague humans, animals and plants? Maybe his way of ruling isn't the best. Think, did man make these things or would the Devil make them to prove his way of ruling was best?

What is your explaination of them?

Hi TJ,

The thought that God is dead has also come up in my mind, but I just don't have faith that he is dead. It takes faith to believe anything as far as God and creation goes. When you look at creation everything that lives, dies. This includes the sun, planets, stars and complete solar systems. Unless there is a God somplace who intervenes, this whole human race will die out, in time.

When I try to visualize God I realize that it is impossible for my mind to think in terms of no beginning, or spirit entity in another dimension, with no limits of power and inteligence. Could it be that we are unable to understand these things, sort of like a dog understanding a computer? If this is the case and God doesn't reveal himself in a way that we can understand, then we are left to our own imagination. I've just about given up on trying to understand the meaning of life, I will just live out what's left the best way I can to enjoy it without hurting anyone else. Too bad we can't ask God WHY and get an answer.

Honor among exJws

hello all......some things that have happened during the past week have made me think about exjws and honor.

we all remember 'theocratic warfare' and how it is ok to lie to those who don't deserve the truth.

so, my question is.....are exjws as a group more dishonest than people from other religious groups?

Hi Mommie,

I think you told it like it is. We do have the experience of having been a JW that gives us a common bond and probably makes us feel a little closer than strangers though.

As far as morals go, I guess we let our conscience be our guide. I try not to judge others by my conscience. It feels good to do something just because it feels right, not because of some rule or trying to please some deity.

I have found that I like almost all the ones who post here, I like diversity and that we have in full array. I might change my mind though if someone really got on my case. So far I love it here.

A very good analysis of the developement of religion. I agree, for whatever that is worth. There are no answers from God that I have seen and I don't expect any.

A friend was by a few minutes ago and he said that when you talk to God it is called prayer, but when God talks to you it is called schizophrenia. I think he has some insite there.

I couldn't just ignore my cousin's email. This was my reply:

Hi Don,

I was just thinking of your girls, how are they doing these days. Do you have any grandkids?
My stepdaughter just had a girl in January, she is so cute. I watch her for her sometimes when she has to go to the doctor. We take a walk in the country where she lives and she seems to love it. I have six grandkids so far, they can be a pain but are lots of fun to observe. To bad God is going to kill them all soon and resurrect the ones lucky enough to die before the big A.

I'm sorry I don't buy all the stuff I was taught in the organization or other religions either. I don't judge others by their religious dogma but by their actions as a human. After examining the teachings from the beginning of the JW faith, without blinders, I have concluded they are just another human developed religion like all the rest. Every event they have pointed to as being a prophecy to be fulfilled has failed to materialize. Now the 1914 date is being redefined. According to the latest information it could be decades away. Remember the scripture,"No man knows the day and hour, not even the Son." has proven to be true. I think you will live to see the organization change it's emphasis on dates. I want say anymore. I guess I am an apostate now as they say.

My beliefs don't change my love for the family, I hope yours don't either.

Hi All,

I appreciate the comments. I can understand my cousins motives, he still believes in his heart that I and my family will die at the big A. We were all close family members when we were young. There were about 10 cousins who lived in the country within a mile of each other, and my grandma lived about in the middle of the group. She was a good womam who loved us all. She would tell us bible stories when we were very young and believed she was chosen as one of the anointed. This was in the time of Rutherford. I remember hearing him once, what an arrogant man he was. I can only remember this about him even at the early age of 6 or 7. Those were very good times and I will never forget them but now I must view things in light of what I have learned from an open minded search of facts, not tainted by the cult like control of a religious organization.

I think I will not try to enlighten him, as this is his life's dream and I wouldn't want to take that from him at his age. I guess it's as good as any that he could have.

He has two lovely daughters who I think have seen the light if I remember correctly, he doesn't mention them anymore, so I guess he has disowned them. I haven't seen them in 40 years. Another example of the org. breaking up families. Maybe I should mention how much I love my daughters and how well we get along without the borg's intervention. I think I will just ignore his email.

it seems like to me the majority of people who are in the truth, are were in the truth was a result of either a family member are a friend witnessing to them and not many seem to have been found in the door to door work.. from my years of associating with the borg i cannot recall many coming in the truth from the door to door work.. how were you sucked in?

for me it was my aunt who has now even though i am not disfellowshipped decided to write me out of her will to the tune of about $150,000.00 (maybe i should hang around a couple more years)dont think i will.. please respond .
