Hi Bang,
What are you saying, Bang! I have found the answers to the bibles mysteries and all other religions are doing something wrong because they don't understand it like I do?
Ken P.
as i was exercising this morning i was thinking about my decision to step down as a ministerial servant and also to stop attending religious functions of any kind.
i've often felt that jws were somewhat flawed in their interpertation of the scriptures, but this morning it kind of hit me all at once that no 2 religions are going to have the exact same beliefs even though both religions might be using the same translation of the bible.
this disturbing fact raises quite a few thought provoking questions:.

the congregation i belong to is small and most of its territory is in the rurals.
there is one territory in particular that is some distance from the hall and so it does not get worked as often as the closer ones.
then he said: "i cant talk to you people, you dont believe in hell" .
Hi Frenchy,
You described my home a little over 60 years ago, except my mother didn't work and my dad did. It was a log house, not painted, no electricity, no well, we went to the spring for water. We did have an oil stove to cook with. We even built a model plane and my dad was smart but not educated. He could repair anything. We were happy and all enjoyed life. It brought back memories of our working unassigned territory in the hills of virginia in the 50s.

hi folks, .
i went to the meetup at starbucks in greensboro nc yesterday.
there were only three of us there but was very enjoyable.
Hi Folks,
I went to the meetup at StarBucks in Greensboro NC yesterday. There were only three of us there but was very enjoyable. We each told our JW story and then just talked about our quest for spirituality. Neither of them was a member of this forum so I encouraged them to come on over. They both were sincere people with good character, at least that was my opinion. "Good character" can mean different things to different people I realize, but that was my view.

Hi YK ,
You will understand when you get my age and all the ones who taught you to believe Armageddon was just around the corner are dead, all the presidents of the society that you knew are dead, the GB has changed most of the old light and still nothing has happened, and the new light puts the end off to another century, and the generation of 1914 could last indefinitely. You don't feel too motivated to listen to another spirit directed prophet who has been proven wrong so many times already. {Including you}
Maybe you still believe your masters but don't expect anyone here to listen.

i am frankly tired of hearing the name of joseph rutherford taken to task so regularly and with such little respect accorded to it.
not everything that this gigolo of freedom said was incorrect.
in fact any sympathetic jw who is viewing this message would be well advised to take the following words of troubled joe, very seriously indeed : "how may a man "seek meekness"?
Weren't the writers of the bible men, and if they were directed by the same spirit as the GB I don't think it is very trustworthy!!

sometimes when i have gotten home from a busy day or spent way to much time with family members, i like to go into my office or out into the garden.
at this time i will sit and listen to the silence.
the lack of noise brings me peace at times, when i do not have to hear everyone's problems or deal with how upset everyone thinks the world is making them.
Hi Ken,
For over 20 years I just put all these questions of God, Truth, the future out of my mind. I was at peace with myself and enjoyed my hobbies and family. Now that I have retired and have so much time to think, I am going nuts over all this religion, meaning of life, God, nature, finding some real truth etc. I'm almost ready to go back to my blank mind, it seems that's where I will end up anyway, with no answers to satisfy my longing for truth.
I do love my quiet times in the back yard, just sitting there listening at nature and watching the birds, and squirls, the wind blowing in the trees, my dogs playing etc. I don't think I will ever have faith in any religion again though.

just so i don't miss anybody who is interested.... my results from the ekg and the echogram showed a severe leak in a heart valve.
i am going for an angiogram on the 15th but the cardiologist says the liklihood is great that i will need open heart surgery.
rare for a 30 year old but if necessary, it is necessary.. no word yet on the results of the blood work for liver enzymes and hepatitis.
Hi Cygnus,
I hate to read post like this, but you seem to be the kind of man that can take it and come back running. Wishing you the fastest recovery in history.

we`ve seen some pretty mean usa bashing.so it`s time for a new thread about the good things in the usa..first off they got coors beer,a dam fine beer i must say.disineyland, what kid dosen`t want to go to disineyland?been there more than a few times and i intend to go again.tex-mex food,i`ll be dammed if i can get a decent enchilada this side of the border.the oregon coast with the giant red wood forest,a beautiful drive on a holiday.the humungas servings when you go to a usa restaraunt, especialy the steakhouse`s.so if you live in the usa,or go for a visit like i do,what are the things you enjoy in the usa?...outlaw edited by - outlaw on 2 july 2002 20:25:30.
Hi All,
I like the geography. You can find any climate or land type. Mountains, plains, swamp, desert or combination. You can live out in the country or in any size city. I love my area, just a few hours drive to ocean or mountains. No flooding, few bad storms, no earthquakes(maybe a mild one, but not in my lifetime) spring, summer, fall and winter seasons. Beautiful trees, birds, and plenty of animals.
As far as government, probably as good as you get with humans.

i for one actually agree with the comments made by invisible, americans on the whole are a nation that dominates the world through bullying.. america is the big kid in the playground nicking everyones lunch money.. i live in the us but will move away soon.
what happened on 9/11 was unbelievably , god awful and so sickening that i cant watch those planes hit the twin towers without feeling nauseated.. this may hurt but.........america brought his on themselves.
the world has had enough of their politics their machoism and their greed.
Ludicrap,
If that is the way you feel, it's best you don't tarry here too long, you might get used to the advantages of being an American. You need to go to Africa and give them your help.
