Deep down inside you probablyhave hunches and feelings like, "If we have the one true religion that is the only channel by which God directly beams his truths, then why is the organization so worried that we will not look at or read ANYTHING that isn't produced by them. They certainly do ALL the time and were even members of the United Nations to have access to materials and research. If it is the one true channel then no website or book should be able to enlighten or shake up ones faith.

Question about "millions now living will never die"
by Perversion of a truth inokay, so the other day someone posted something about the talk in 1918 givin by rutherford (also released in pamplet and the talk repeated numerous times through 1924) titled "the world has ended, millions now living will never die".
when looked up on the watchtower library, numerous times the talk is sometimes referred to as "millions now living will never die" and also "millions now living may never die".
my question is there some honest explanation as to why some times it would read "will" and other times read "may"?

It is amazing that even after many witnesses will look at all this material stating that JW are in fact proclaiming false prophecies, they will just blindly move on as if it never happened. Ive always had one big question as to what motivates the organization to still move foward, is it financial? Power from leaders? I wonder if any of the governing body are actually willingly deceiting people or if they are victims of their own thinking?

by EastCoastMindFree ini have been on this site lurking for over 2 years and this is my first post, i feel so bottled with emotion that i have to let it out somehow so i do not have an emotional breakdown!
i was raised in the organization and am married with 2 children ages 4 and 2. my wife and i have been inactive for about 2 years and i have always had hard questions that were never answered growing up, such as blood policy and how david and his men were allowed to eat from the bread reserved for the high priests without death penalty since it was life or death.
carbon dating on human remains/tools that date back 30-40k years, far surpassing the 6k year man creation date, the double standards and very real "human" aspect on the organization and its decisions and history.

skeeter1 you hit the nail on the head with the feeling of not belonging and in a strange land, I really wonder if I will ever feel "normal" or whatever that means, we have much to lose but that is why I am fading and I do not plan on being activly against or anything like that because I respect peoples decisions they make in life. But I do truly in my heart know that this is a man made organization and Im halfway through reading Crisis of Conscience which is a huge mind opener and basically affirms the doubts I already had.

Wow I appreciate all the responses already, truly inspiring. Yes I am fully convinced and have been for some time now that this religion is a cult, I feel robbed of a rich childhood and a college experience that was always downplayed and advised against, so I have anger and sadness that I feel like my whole entire being and mentality has been shaped by this religion and it makes me sick. I do not want my children to feel like this so I have been fading for around 2 years now and elders no longer come by so I am pretty much in the clear as far as thats concerned. @DJS I feel exactly the same about wishing I was never exposed to it because unless someone has experienced it they really have no clue as to what kind of mental slavery it is. I am looking forward to intelligent conversations here and it feels good to vent. :)

Hello,
I have been on this site lurking for over 2 years and this is my first post, I feel so bottled with emotion that I have to let it out somehow so I do not have an emotional breakdown! I don't know so many other things. The biggest concern for me is that I have two small children and I am at the point where its make or break with teaching them this religion, on one hand I still do not celebrate holidays so they would miss out on that, and the other hand I am not bringing them to meetings because deep down inside I KNOW that it is very cultlike and brainwashing. I just don't know what to do and need support and have noone to talk to about it. Thanks for reading
