it seems to me that jw's think that they are the only people in the world who do the right thing and anyone else is up to their neck in crap, doing drugs and other unsplendid things and being a jw 'saved' me from these things as i am bound to have done them if i hadn't have been one.

You know what I like about this site is the fact that reading the posts you realise you are not the only one who:

Played mind games during the meetings

Stayed on a not-at-home for far too long

Pretended to ring the door bell

Invented hours

Went on no-existant return visits

Dumped magazines in the bin

Hated d2d work

Hated TMS talks

Hated having to be different ALL the time

Hated being compared (unfavourably) to the local uber-witness with his Herman Munster hair cut
and who was a 'very mature brother' and 'a very spiritual brother', which, of course, I wasn't.

You'd think I would have got it out of my system by now, but some days - and today is one of them - the bile
just spills out and I feel really bitter and angry that I not only missed the boat on so many things but that I actually went down to the quayside, untied it and waved it good-bye with a smile on my face and a song in my heart.

A disabled family member is all but ignored by the local dubs who put in an appearance now and then, usually when the CO visits. Kind hearted 'Worldly "ones" (tm)' do a lot for her. She tells the dub-a-calling about all the kind help that she gets from her 'worldly' friends. They say, 'Well, I am sure they are lovely people, but DO THEY LOVE JEHOVAH??' with that stupid head-nodding-slightly-askance-intake-of-breath knowing condemnation which means you shouldn't be associating with prospective bird-food.

We faded some 5 years or more ago. Some ignore us some don't. They all seem to be surprised that we are warm and upright and have not been struck down by some hideous disease. We don't have hollow eyes with black circles or superating skin sores and no dogs are following us licking our open wounds that we don't have. Their mouths drop open and say 'oh you'er looking really well' (disappointed surprise). I say 'Yes, we'er doing really great, never been better - how are you doing?' The dubbies think we should be wailing and nashing our teeth. Pillocks!

Gasp! I have gotten to the end of this post. I have two words - cognative dissonace - I hope I have spelt that right, it looks wrong but I can't be arsed to fire up a spell checker or check a dictionary. I used to suffer from CD and filtered out anything that might upset my preferred view of the world. I know you will all be delighted to learn that I was cured some years ago. We all know that the main thrust of the pro 607BCE is to maintain the 1914 doctrine at all costs. Why? Because with no 1914 there would be no 1919 and hence no mandate from Jesus and the authority that the WTBTS holds over the JW's would evaporate. Can you imagine the emotional carnage that would result, not to mention the lawsuits. It is imperative that the status quo remains. Most JW's are not scholars and are happy to let the WTBTS do their thinking for them. How many eyes glaze over during the study of the 'Daniel' book and the other 'Prophecies explained' books. The answers are parrotted from the book as no-one has the brain power to do indepth study - maybe that is why the group meetings are held late evening when everyone is knackered and brain-dead from work and are happy to parrot. I was always glad that someone always wanted to answer the unanswerable double negative question. JW's are taught what their reaction to anything from Brooklyn will be. You only have to read their blurb to see that. I have a 1951 Clean Worship Assembly report that demonstrates this well: In an article of a talk headlined 'Thrilling Discourse by F W Franz', the talk was about Noah, flood wife and kids. The talk was entitled 'Baptism of Salvation and Fire Baptism' part of it said: '...special mention was made of Noah's wife. It was with joy that we heard how she pictured the bride of christ,...' This was, I imagine, one of those talks that brothers spoke about in hushed terms saying 'it was a very deep talk' which was accepto-speak for 'I haven't a clue what he was talking about but at least I am joyful at hearing it'. Whats all this got to do with the post in question I hear you ask. I shall tell you. We are all wasting our time and having our time wasted arguing with scholar and 3rd witness (who are probably one and the same as has already been alluded to). No amount of dialogue will do any good, there's none so blind as those who won't see as my grandmother used to say. And she was right. My mother used to say 'talking to him/her/them is like banging your head against a brick wall, it's nice when you stop' She was right too.

This is no big deal for them. They are a psychopathic corporation. Why else would they be able to write about the horrors of Malawi (not allowing their 'dear brothers' to buy a party card and so suffer terrible persecution) and at the same time give the nod and a wink to 'our dear brothers' in Mexico bribing the authorities to obtain a cartillo saying they had done military service and were members of the reservist army (an automatic DAing offence). No doubt the GB sat down to a hearty breakfast whilst reading about the atrocities caused by their intransigence. I expect their thoughts went something like: 'Hmmm interesting, black people far away, if I can be arsed I might look up where Malawi is'; 'those scamps in Mexico, what will they get up to next - chuckle - I am looking forward to my next freebie - I mean upbuilding visit; there are some hot senoritas down there in those congos (do we still call them companies to get round the property laws, I wonder, chuckle' The cognative disonance spreads like a cancer throughout the whole corporation. Why didn't Hitler jail other pacifist religions?

the watchtower still proudly highlights that they were the only religion sent to concentration camps, due to their neutral war stance.

however there are many other religions that are neutral or pacificts and so must have disobeyed hitlers request for them to join his ss.

so what is the real reason jws were put into concentration camps?

All the while tha Malawi flames raged, the WT gave the nod and wink to the brothers in Mexico to 'buy' with bribes a cartillo (a sort of certificate) which said that they had served a one year military service and were members of the reservist army. From my understanding if you joined the armed forces you automatically DA'd yourself. I understand Ratherafraud tried to suck up to old adolf who was having none of it. Then, as a spurned child, Ratherafraud went all bitchy on him and the JW's of the time bore the brunt. Of course, this is gods clean and undefiled people we are talking about here, the happiest people on earth. NOT!
