The Best And Worst Accents In The World
by Englishman inwell, obviously we english don't qualify on that score as we simply do not have any accent whatsoever.. but i do like the mid to south us accent, it's very warm and hospitable.
i'm not too keen on the accent of the eastern europeans, it seems harsh and bombastic.
englishman.

It's funny how a relatively small area (when compared to TEXAS) can have so many different accents. Joisy "are you from joisy?" ('nuff said). Nyeahhh, New Hampsha' (some sound just like Bugs Bunny). Mass - Jehover, cah pahk etc. You know 'em all already :)
I love the englishters accents mahself. Any english women want to correspond with a texan just so we can 'admire' each others voice? lol

Did YOU Ever Think That YOU Would Be Talking Against The "Truth"?
by minimus inbeing raised as a witness, i don't think that i ever thought i would speak against the organization of jehovah's witnesses.
what about you??

Nope. I always blamed myself for not being smart enough to see things 'their way'. They were right, I was wrong, and the only thing I could do was wait out the 'short time' till I would be killed off by the god whose eye apple happens to be the WT. Funny, I remember thinking when I was really, really trying to be the good jw, "It's so clear! How come the world cannot see the truth?" yeah, I know, there's a scriptural reason ...blah, blah....god blinds their eyes of understanding...blah...blah... These days I think "It's so clear! How come the jw's cannot see the truth?" (about the WT that is) Life is funny idn't it?

can't wait for Halloween!
by Ravyn inmy husband and i were discussing the thread about ripostes to jws who shun you in public...and we came up with a cool idea for halloween this year!
first, find out if it is on a meeting night or if the local pizza hut will be hosting the annual jw hide-from-the-trick-or-treaters 'get together'.
then dress up like a smurf, blue body paint and all, but maybe with an axe burried in your head and fake blood....and either go knock on the kingdom hall door during the meeting and say 'trick or treat!

Ravyn, that's great! With some good video of the smurf sightings, you ought to be in the running for grand prize in some funniest video show. And that in itself ought to cover the bail

Hey ladies, I got an 80. I do hope this isn't one of those tests where the real score is inversely proportional to the negative square root of the.....oh damn me! There I go thinking with that brain thingy again instead of that other thingy.

Kingdom Increase District Convention
by hippikon inremember the kingdom increase district convention - "the increase is on" was the catch cry.
we were expecting a ten fold increase in publishers just before armagedon.
stories were being told of congregations growing so quickly they split several times, only had a ms as the po and there was standing room only at the public talks.

I don't keep up with all things dubby but I was just curious, do you think they'll be having a Kingdom Decrease Convention or a Kingdom Stagnation Convention any time soon?

I'm just another of the uninteresting ones.
When I was about 12 I thought a planned boating trip was to a local lake (Hanson Dam) in So. Cal. Instead we (3 "adults", my ~10yo nephew and I ) are headed out to Marina Del Rey and off into the really wild blue yonder! 3 miles out (can BARELY see land) in a 14ft boat. I hear what sounds like gunshots way off in the distance. So meanwhile we're catching a mess of fish and then the "adults" start cutting the fish up and throwing them overboard. Odd, but I'm from Texas and don't know anything about this bloodletting ritual. So then the shark shows up and begins circling the boat. What do you catch a shark with.... a 3" gaff (hook) and a short length of ski rope of course. Well, that shark got away but the next one did not and since sharks do not easily drown, we (they) hadda pull the damn thing into the boat while still alive and flopping about. Remember, 14ft boat, 5 persons and 1 7ft flopping Blue shark. That was an interesting experience. The japenese neighbors had a heck of a party that night as they made shark steaks from their gift. This was a few years before Jaws.
...thinking....thinking....OH, I designed some artwork for something called an Apostafest not too long ago :) That was cool!
Played drums in an Air Guitar band many years ago. Our standard number was "My Generation" by the Who but our cardboard and balsa wood expenses were quite excessive and led directly to our early demise. Well, that and it's hard to compete against 6 scantily clad young 'ladies' singing "why don't we get drunk and screw" - you Parrotheads will remember that tune.
I know people that have many interesting stories but I'm a dullard in comparison. :)

LOL at Ven's 'contributions'.
Maximum Occupancy 144,000. Great crowd stands outside the gates and watches the merriment from afar.
One thing for sure, it would have rave reviews for the cleanest theme park in existence (thanks to the great crowd being let in after hours to clean and maintain only).
