I sometimes enjoy listening to psychedelic music. It must be because of permanent brain damage caused by the lsd i took when i was teenager. Some songs that fall into this category are:

    The inner light - beatles

Dark side of the moon whole album - pink floyd

Carry on - crosby still nash and young

    Ramble on - led zep

    Tangerine - led zep

Do you like this stuff sometimes? Are there some songs/albums that you put in this classification?

Maybe not psychodelic as such, but Tom Waits can be a good mind bender.

Hey SS...funny thing you should mention that.

Earlier this afternoon, I was listening to our local rock station, and they periodically have psychedelic sets.

I love: Count 5, Yardbirds, Hendrix, YES and a few others. Not that everything that they did was psychedelic, but some of their stuff was, or fits the set.

Great stuff! I dj every Friday here in Toronto, and I play alot of 60s psychedelic rock, people love it, because it isn't the stuff that gets any attention anymore.

Oh, the goood old days. Preborg and all that. I saw Cream, The Doors, Grateful Dead, Crosby Stills Nash and Young, John Mayall, and bunches of others. Still listen to it a lot.

JeffT: I'm jealous. You lucky guy.

What I wouldn't have done, had I been old enough, to check out those bands.

I was only a kid, but I remember having some pretty funky babysitters. They have the hi-fi spinning their 45s and 33 1/3 long plays. I knew more rock than many 6 and 7 year olds did in the late 1960s.

Imagine me in a tie-dyed t-shirt and John Lennon glasses at 8:

Lucky you JeffT. Once in a lifetime opportunity, and you got to see it. Priceless

I don't like the word dub being used to describe Jehovah's Witnesses because I've always known dub as a truly excellent genre of music. For those of you unfamiliar with Jamaican music, dub is a very psychedelic, bass heavy type of reggae made popular by King Tubby back in the 70's and more recently by Mad Professor.

You mentioned Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the moon, well, there's an album called Dub Side of the Moon that is absolutely brilliant and is definitely worth a listen.

I'm checking out count five. Two of their songs on kazaa are pretty big mouth and psychotic reaction.

If you can find it, you might enjoy watching the original woodstock videos. It puts any jw assembly to shame. Ok, there was mud and garbage, but it was an earth shaking event, i.e., it's effects have been felt in large parts of the western world in music, art, and life styles ever since. I wasn't there, but i saw the movie a couple of yrs after.

Another psychedelic song would be woodstock by matthew's southern comfort.

    SS.

I only like heavy stuff. I listen to Black Sabbath a bit these days, and Im partial to the song "black Sabbath" especially. Another band I like is called 'rage against the machine'. I like angry music. Anyway, as this thread is about psychadelic music I will not drag it off topic further.

    greetings

    Top 'o the mornin', refiner

I went through an angry music stage. Listen to any death metal? The vocals didn't do anything for me, but i thought the guitar was great.
