Have YOU Ever Met Up With Anyone Famous
by RAYZORBLADE inhave any of you on this forum, ever met up with anyone considered famous?
i've met a great deal of people over the years.
one of my most memorable: dennis leary, drinking a few pints with him as he sang "margaritaville" from the jukebox.

Jehovah's Witnesses, meet your mother
by DanTheMan inif you had to describe the faithful slave, information disseminating arm of the organization as having a singular, human personality, what would that personality be like?
would it not be that of a nagging mother?
how many "warnings" about apostates, the internet, satan, worldlies, workmates, people met while on vacation, satan, working too much, not putting forth enough effort, the media, slowing down, satan, entertainment, satan satan satan, etc.

Sometimes a song just hits the nail on the head. Pink Floyd's.....
Mother (Waters) Mother do you think they'll drop the bomb?
Mother do you think they'll like this song?
Mother do you think they'll try to break my balls?
Mother should I build the wall?
Mother should I run for president?
Mother should I trust the government?
Mother will they put me in the firing line?
Ooooooh, Is it just a waste of time?
Hush now baby, baby, dont you cry.
Mother's gonna make all your nightmares come true.
Mother's gonna put all her fears into you.
Mother's gonna keep you right here under her wing.
She wont let you fly, but she might let you sing.
Mama will keep baby cozy and warm.
Ooooh baby ooooh baby oooooh baby,
Of course mama'll help to build the wall.
Mother do you think she's good enough -- to me?
Mother do you think she's dangerous -- to me?
Mother will she tear your little boy apart?
Mother will she break my heart?
Hush now baby, baby dont you cry.
Mama's gonna check out all your girlfriends for you.
Mama wont let anyone dirty get through.
Mama's gonna wait up until you get in.
Mama will always find out where you've been.
Mama's gonna keep baby healthy and clean.
Ooooh baby oooh baby oooh baby,
You'll always be baby to me.
Mother, did it need to be so high? -

Which songs do you members over 40...and then members under 40
by berylblue inwhich songs do all of you over 40 feel are must-listens for those of every age?
conversely, i really would like to know what the younger ones here think are the must -hear songs for every generation.
without my daughters in my life, i don't get to hear the better offerings of the new artists.

Hey Sixy of Niney;
I used to have several Les Paul's that would now bring probably upwards of $2000 each. ;(
About a year ago I bought a Jay Turser copy for ~$275 and it just beats the living hell out of any other Les Paul copy I've owned or played. Now I'm just a rank amatuer (emphasis on rank) but in my opinion they make excellent guitars for beginners & intermediaries without costing two arms and two legs. I've seen some locally in shops but you can find them on ebay to see the variety they make and descriptions etc.Just my 3 cents and whatever axe your daughter winds up with, best of luck to her (and your ears!)

Friends
by StinkyPantz inthe dictionary defines a friend as a person whom one knows, likes, and trusts.
this definition seems fair enough, but at what point do you really know someone, and how much trust is needed?
i think everyones ideas of what a friend should be like are broad.
