  The difference between JW's & EX-JW's

  i think that this post by namewithheld sums up, to my mind at least, the biggest difference between an exjw and a current jw: a flippant attitude about past (and current, for that matter) wrongs.

  when you can no longer glibly pass over other peoples pain at the hands of brothers, is when you can no longer be a part of god's one true (not) organization.

  JWs & Personal Finance

  perhaps this is not a widespread phenomenon, but have any of you considered the ramifications in regards to many jw families never saving for retirement or college funds, becues they thought the end was near, or college was a non-issue for so many of us?

  just recently my parents never saved any money, becuase the promise of the end coming soon, but as old age creeps closer, i think some of the policy is revealing itself to be really bad advice.

  i also wonder how long jws have to keep working after retirement age than the rest of the 'worldlies".

I realize that there are lots of social and economic issues that will naturally affect this topic, and would by no means dismiss them. Just curious about other's thoughts.

  recently i read a thread where someones e-mails had been hacked by local elders.

  i have been e-mailing with a very nice person who has started 'independently thinking' lately.

  because of this thread i wrote her that she should be careful of people finding her e-mails.. the very next day her husband had hacked into her e-mails and was very upset.. i was just wondering for all of you- how many have experiences like this?.

  There is a difference between having an account hacked and being careless with your personal information like passwords, account information, etc...To assume that elders as a group are "hacking" into personal email accounts is ludicrous and slightly paranoid. If in fact, someone gives access information to a third party, be it friend, spouse, whatever, they are only asking for it, and shouldn't blame the nosy ones for such an indiscretion. There are civil and criminal remedies, but this requires documentation from the ISP like times it happened, emails in question, and specific details of how the information was used, which usually requires discovery and affadavits from the harmed party.

  French Bethel reopens

  it appears that all of the french language printing work is returning to france.

  it has been carried out at the uk branch for the last few years.

  60 french bethelites were told to go back to france to report for duty.. the uk branch now has to get rid of about 100 british bethelites in the next few months.

  Are Jehovah's Witnesses evil?

  i am shocked at the many accusations against jehovah's witnesses in this forum.. i know that i am young, but most of my family are jws and they are good people and i love them.

  even my worldly family is very nice and i do not shun them.

  the friends in the hall are very nice also.

  they have an article at the url below which i thought was hillarious.

  it talks about how the native americans are facing more and more assimilation and the destruction of thier indigenous culture by "the world".

  I was just browsing the officail WT site...hmmm I thought we were, but just for the sake of this post I'll admit going there. They have an article at the URL below which I thought was hillarious. It talks about how the Native Americans are facing more and more assimilation and the destruction of thier indigenous culture by "the world". They neglected to mention that any Native American that joined the org would have to renounce thier beliefs in thier own gods and would have to give up rituals and related icons of thier spirituality. We all know how demonic those dream catchers are....I thought this was quite ironic and wondered what you folks thought. Read for yourself if you can stomach going to thier website for more than five minutes.
