It would be interesting what people who have never been JWs (I KNOW SOME HERE WERE NEVER!) You guys don't count either. I mean something more like a random selection...I'm sure we all know 20 people who have little if any JW contact, that would answer a quick email question.

blondie just made me think about what would happen if the shoe were on the other foot...if in the most unlikely event that something horribly evil like a plane crashing into 25 Columbia Heights, what would the JWs do when people from all different walks of life, religious belief, culture, etc...came to their aid? Would they decline the assistance? How many heart attacks when the first US flag was raised? I don't seem to recall any reason the people of New York wouldn't want to after ALL those brothers and sisters at Bethel ran down to the Trade Center to lend a hand. Sorry, couldn't help that! Notice it doesn't or wouldn't matter to those folks cleaning up down there now or since the rescue effort began after Sept 11, but it certainly does to the WT. Who would want to live in a paradise with people like that anyway?
Another thought is all this vague warning business we're getting from the government, Dick, Georgie, Donnie, oh and Gen Franky...something will happen today or tommorrow, or the next day, or next year, we don't know when or by who, but it will happen.....Dick Cheney is on the Governing Body!!

i'm pretty sure this question has probably been asked before but i'd like to put it out here and see what the responses are.
my doubts about the bible probably began maybe 6 or 7 years ago, they were very small ones however and i managed to supress them for quite a while.
however certain events in my life would make those events resurface.

BTW, the gospel clock really isn't a clock...they are using set numbers to do the calculations, instead of real time data. I assume they got ahold of one number or another that the WT spews from year to year and used it to formulate current publication stats/JW activity. Some of their code...

Pick up a book explaining nuclear physics. Read it through once or twice. If you don't then understand everything you have read is that proof that its contents "do not make sense"?
The critical thinker wouldn't even consider it aC, like I should have to tell you this. A worthy student of any topic builds on a foundation of facts, research, much thought, AND most importantly the test of time...something akin to scholarship. Perhaps your post is for those who have never read the bible, but you might consider the experience of some, especially here, are like an ongoing example of the scientific method. You claim that the bible is in some instances hard to understand and rightly so. Who made up that rule? If its the truth then it should be self evident and not obscure or cryptic. Those parts of the bible that are, usually pertain to prophesy, which continuously get refuted by the ongoing scientific method I mentioned before. Change dates, twist words, have blind faith, reread and reanalyze the bible 20,000 times...all of those things are the real signs of the times.....the blissful ignorance of real truths.

Leander All three are big NO's in my book. If it works for others that's fine, as long as I don't have to deal with ANY of it unwillingly. I'm a Dogfather as a matter of fact and didn't mind doing it at all, heh except for getting up to the lectern and doing the second reading during Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday...One of the things I would say to you is set those things aside for a while and go have some fun!

They may be old news to a few of you but some of this stuff is quite hot now that everyone is trying to bring more functionality to cell phones and the digital like. Some of these sites probably don't get noticed by most of us, but these are the things that drive new technologies like crazy, and drive IT departments absolutely crazy.
