Do elders have Bible Studies?
by slipnslidemaster inin my experience, i have never seen an elder in the congregations that i was associated with bring (or have for that matter) a bible study to the kingdom hall.. now i think that i already know the reason for that, but it seems that the majority of the bible studies are done by the poor sister pioneers.. is this the case in the hall you went to?.

Another newbie
by Copernicus infirst, id like to thank the many posters on this board (and the old h2o) who made my exiting passage through the entrapping maze of wt ideology a relatively expeditious and much less painful possibility then it would have been otherwise.
the value of the service you perform in helping to dispel the sense of paralyzing of isolationism felt by those who begin to realize the truth about the wts and its pompous, self-designated status a god sole representative on earth today, cant be overstated.
ive been a lurker here for a least a year and i was finally prompted to write by the inevitable reappearance of the pedantic you know.

Dad studied with several and borught a quite a few in. The last few years it was more like inactive ones or unbeiliving husbands, but I don't know of the other elders haveing studies at all!!! Never thought about it too much! Good point though! A lot of them like Dad were so busy with all the 'problems' in the Hall and their other 'vounteer' assignments they didn't have time for they're own families much less studies!

JW's & alternative medicine
by slipnslidemaster inin one of the threads i read today, they were talking about looking into your eyeballs to diagnose cancer and the like.
also selling herbs.. my comment and question is this: it seemed like in my congregation and the surrounding ones, alot of the sisters were into kineseology, reflexology, herbs, vitamins, color therapy, aroma therapy, etc.. alot of touchy feely hippie crap.
while i personally agree that there needs to be more synergy with eastern and western medicines, it would appear reading the boards that alot of witnesses are into this sort of stuff.. is this your experience?
