She's probably my favorite singer, her voice is so clean and clear and beautiful. I love so many of her songs, 'Don't Fence me in' is a fav as is 'I can see clearly now' and 'little boy blue'. thanks ray I'll have to get her latest CD. Ven

Michael Crichton: Travels

That has got to be one of my favorite books of all time. I don't know why but I found it so fascinating and funny. I love the way he learns about himself, through the experiences he has, and he can be rather crabby. I loved the 'Shark' story as well as his first day on rounds. And some of his hiking stories. I really enjoyed his camping trip in Africa as well with the whole 'elephant' scene, I can't remember it exactly but to me it really described/explained how people feel about leaving the borg. How the fear of the unknown is more frightening then the actuality of it. When it's happening you deal with it, but the waiting for it to happen is the worst part.

An example of inconsistency in Watchtower literalism....ABSTAIN FROM BLOOD
by logansrun inthe practice of blood-transfusion refusel by jws has been a topic long discussed among even the public.
i don't feel i have much of anything new to add to the arguments against such an extreme policy, but i will give "my take" on it.
when asked to defend their position on blood, jws will most often quote acts 15:20, 29 where the words "abstain from...blood" are used.

This is a great thread, I?ve really enjoyed all the posts so far. It seems so crazy when you look at it from outside the org. you know. Another point I like is:
Acts 15:29 ?to keep abstaining from things sacrificed to idols and from blood??
Well if you do a cross reference on ?keep abstaining from things sacrificed to idols? you go to I Cor 8. Where the entire chapter is explaining how that is really only a conscious matter as long as you don?t stumble someone else??..
Sooooo wouldn?t that also apply to the rest of that verse???? the same word ?Abstain? is used??????
Anyway another point I like is if you do a cross reference for the ?Food
PS just an extra thought if Jesus was giving ALL power and authority like he says in Matt 28:18-20, then what was left to give him in 1914????????
Mat 28:18-20 reads :
"And Jesus approached and spoke to them, saying: "All authority has been given me in heaven and on the earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded YOU".
