Imagine all were born blind. Certainly, we could have built a normal society made for blind people. Other senses rather than vision could have taken precedence.
Speaking about light, colors… etc. in that world of blindness would only be labeled as “crazy.”Interestingly, even if all had vision, that still doesn’t guarantee true vision of the reality. For example, identically sized lines can appear to be different lengths when placed between converging parallel lines. (for more examples http://www.bbc.com/future/bespoke/story/20150130-how-your-eyes-trick-your-mind/index.html). If mind can be tricked by what physical eyes see, how much more it would be tricked when it ventures into the realm of the invisible such as what is before and after this life … what was before Big Bang … God and His purpose etc. Hence we have conflicted religions and scriptures with God doing nothing to correct it as though He wants everyone to make his thrilling search.
Greater ability to perceive means an expanded vision of reality, yet that perception is far from what could be labeled as “real.” When we place our energy in understanding our own perceptions, rather than in using the convenient labels of “right, wrong, true, false, bad and good,” then any sort of judgment is out. Certainly we may need to act as our society dictates.
If someone harms another, there are laws. There are consequences, but judgment is a human invention which humans wrongly applied to God, hence we have the scriptures that speak of a Last Judgment which in turn gave rise to preachers. [Bible itself shows Jesus is the invention of some imaginative minds. For example, Jesus did not say what is reportedly said in John 3:13 where it says he ascended into heaven at the very start of his ministry [which brings the question: then who did all the works attributed to Jesus?]; and it follows, if John 3:13 is based on imagination then following verses such as John 3:16 on which the main purpose of Jesus' coming on to earth is also imaginary!]Compassion arrives when we understand that there is only one relationship (fraternity) and there are many ways to perceive/experience Life. That openness will free us with further understanding which will reflect in a peaceful disposition. A religion that does not recognize this fact has only a tunnel vision.

Many suffer as though in hell (I have some friends in this category) because they want to be successful ones (success, as defined by others) whereas they have the freedom to lead a satisfied life (satisfaction, as defined by themselves)
Their problem is greed; and greed is evil because it ensures seldom used abundance in one place and privation on the other side, and greed (evil) is chosen.
See the contrasting results when the opposite of greed is chosen—the whole earth would be a paradise without God doing anything.

You can put your hand in the fire and suffer burning injuries or but with your hands you can caress somebody and both of you can enjoy a sweet experience.
What I wrote is solely based on my experience, and what happened to Germany everyone is aware.
But with regard to natural calamities, and children born with diseases … etc. I have no answer.

The Golden rule (Matt 7:12) - Do JW's apply it?
by doubtfull1799 inthere is no doubt (in my mind at least from my own personal experience) that in day to day matters most witnesses are genuinely loving and kind (or "nice") people (though their indoctrination and fundamentalist mentality often inhibits their natural kindness and tolerance and often gets in the way of fulling showing it).
however i would like to put the case that when it comes to their ministry and theological/scientific discussion of any type, they fail to apply even the most basic of bible principles that they claim to espouse - the golden rule!
here is what occurred to me.... some things jw's would like men to do to them:.

We do not study about cold and darkness because they are absence of heat and light.
Similarly, we need not think about evil and suffering because evil is the absence of goodness and suffering is the consequence of choosing evil.
Without suffering, we will not know what the misuse of free-will would mean. Hence I cannot tell God: “You should ensure I experience no ill-effects even when I misuse my free-will.” Many have strongly been influenced by the proverb: “Friend in need is friend indeed.” Yet this proverb reveals something negative, a commercial mind-set that friend is a means (if a friend does not help me he is not my friend). Similarly many feel that if God does not ensure that they experience no ill-effects even when they misuse their free-will, He is not a God, or He doesn’t exist. Everyone (including animals) can be taught if we want.
Besides, humans have the ability to remove most of our sufferings, and we have shown our abilities many times—for example, when we found that separation is no longer working, Germany went for re-union. This can be tried with regard to countries such as Pakistan & India, South Korean & North Korean … so on, and finally with the whole world. But ego (individual and collective) is the only obstacle. Yet ego is the easiest thing in the world to destroy because it does when it is no longer nurtured.
