Yeah, AlanF. Comforter is definately You Know. I was reading comforters posts and thinking, how can one person have such a long argument about something he sounds so stupid in because he's so clueless and blind, and I thought "You Know used to write like that...hey it's him--he's back!!"
Amazing. Comforter/You Know, you really need to leave your current congregation and join Bethel. The fit is so, so perrrrrfect.

Should we fear death?
by sleepy inshould we fear death?.
how do you feel about dying?.
after leaving the witnesses i find i am ever more aware of my own mortality.before i could comfort myself with the idea that i could be ressurected.i think the realisation that death will completly end my life , and that there was nothing afterward , was one of the most difficult things to come to terms with.. generally i don't think about it , but when some happens and i do , the idea , quite frankly scares the hell out of me.. but does death really bring the end to us?.

I was a JW for many years and am now a Christian. I don't fear death now like I did when I was a Witness (wondering if I made enough meetings and went out in Field Service enough to earn resurrection). Now, after reading the Bible and having a secure understanding of it (NOT the New World's Translation which is changed in many texts) and having a real relationship with the Father and Jesus, I am happy in my life now and what awaits after this life is done.
I think of death as the example from one of my favorite quotes: "A newborn chick doesn't know it's alive until its world begins to crumble. What seems like the collapse of our universe may be just an exciting begining."

Will trade memorial for 2 hours talk with apostate
by Faraon inaccording to our divorce agreement between my ex and i, i would get our daughters all school holidays in exchange for memorial day, and the other three yearly propaganda meetings.
key is that she had to tell me their dates by february 2 of the year in session.
she did not tell me, so i told her that i would not let her have them next thursday unless she talked to me about religion for two hours.

What about the kid's? Why not take those two hours you were going to use to talk to your wife and talk to your kids about religion? It would be cool to explain to them that eating the bread and drinking the wine is what Jesus commanded, NOT to pass it around a room like the JWs do (Jesus says in John "Truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the son of man, and drink his blood, you have no life in yourselves. He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life."). Reach your kids heart, reach their minds, and then by their being saved, when they become adults they'll know for a certainty and can reason from scripture why JWs are a false religion.
And you never know--through your kids they might in turn be able to reach your wife and touch her in a way no one else ever could as being her children. Christ can be shown to JWs through many differant ways, which might not always be through us. :)

Duh--thanks Nelly! I got it...but the page was suspended due to excessive bandwidth consumption. I hope that will be fixed soon.
But at least I found out how to get it--thanks! :)

How Does One Find Another Religion
by pettygrudger inthis is probably a strange question, but how do you "pick" something else to study?
i'm having a hard time just picking up the bible & reading it - but i'm terrified of picking up any "study material" from other organized religions to help.
which bible do i use?

Finding the right church (and a bible teaching church) are good when trying to get a deeper understanding of the bible. For instance, our church has community groups that met during the week and we study books of the bible, etc. Currently we are studying the history of the church. Don't worry--it's NOTHING like the JW "bookstudies"! :)
My personal favorite is the New American Standard bible. It does take awhile to "relearn" the bible after leaving the JWs, but it's fun and worth the ride.
