This Relatively New Governing Body @ Bethel Not Liked By Bethelites Even the Ass Kissers

when i was a bethelite back many years ago(1970's), a lot of bethelites would say negative things about knorr, kline, and other members of the gb in private conversation.

there was at that time more freedom to express these things without feeling too threatened, which i feel is no longer the case.. now we have a completely new governing body all appointed after 1999 except for losch(1994).

since that time we have seen a steady increase in authoritarianism from this self proclaimed august body, where no descension or voicing a negative opinon with reguards to the governing body is allowed.

When loesch first join the GB alot of the brothers at Brooklyn could not stand him. I remember being at the table and he would say things and my table head would look at his wife and shake his head. A few others would likewise do the same. They felt his Euro-style was not really all that fitting and it was also somewhat to opinionated.

Even Sydlik at lunch once trumped him on the whole football thing to a few of us stating that "sometimes brothers let their own prejudices cause them to state opinions as facts."

i think since the last of that group passed away that Loesch sees the ability to take the reins and force issues

My father made 725 bucks a week my mom like 550 until they retired. As far back as I can remember they donated weekly a 20 dollar bill or about 80 bucks a month.

We went on one vacation in our life which was really us spending 3 days at a district assembly and 2 driving back home and stopping at South of the Border for 5 hours. Now they are retired and still have no money to go on vacation. Yet these lazy slobs are spending millions to build a top of the line bachelor pad with saunas / pools / bball courts etc...

when we were witnessing we could thank jehover for the trinity...but now i think the trinity is what jehovers witnesses like to discuss as it avoids stops any talk on real understanding.....because our god is different and right we could always fall back on the trinity.. .

253 ACRES??? I mean dammit how much of the widows might can they use for these types of projects before they feel guilty. Most JW's llive at or just above poverty-level in urban areas. THeay are scratching day to day in order to survive and these so-called "volunteers" and "slaves" are living in freaking LUXURY.

When this place is built they better allow anyone who is a JW to plan a vacation per year there for free.

Look at the pictures, its in a pristine and beautiful area.

i purchased a condo late last year and due to my personal schedule, i wasn't able to redo it to my preferance until a few months ago.

all the heavy work is done.

now just replacing electrical outlets, fixtures and such.

The only books I have kept are the latest Elders shepherding the flock book, my parent Greek Interlinears that i found in their car, the Aid to bible Understanding and all there volumes of studies in the scriptures. These are the most damning.

All the others are not of value to me LOL

Burn them.... even diehards like my crazy mother has bound volumes going back to God knows when as well as all the old books etc...

She keeps them as part of our "spiritual heritage" yet she wont open them because they are packed with old light that could damage her faith.....

So unless you like all those brightly colored books from the 60's and 70's I would just burn them

the ones really in charge want to be invisible and have been in control since knorr's day, and still think like him.

the gb want like hell to be visible and powerful.

As it stands now all the prominent faces and figures of the Watchtower are dead.

Franz the "oracle"

Sydlik "the Voice"

etc... etc... etc...

These guys had charisma and everyone did tend to know these individuals and looked forward to them on the local level. People actually knew who these men were and they cared. Nowadays even faithful brothers barely know who is on the governing body and they do not care to know. Most people under the age of 60 are just going through the motions and following along with the tradition of the family.

New members really view the kingdom Hall as more of a local church family that happens to have other branches worldwide. Doesn't seem to have that same "international brotherhood" feeling the org once did. Its like a bunchof nation states instead of the theocratic empire it once was.

The GB has a huge amount of authority but no one knows who these guys are or even cares to know anymore.

WT Society holds EXTREME Responsibility for 1975 and False Expectations

however- many jw's who have come into the jw organization from like 1985 forward virtually may have no knowledge of the wt society's 1975 debacle and false predictions of the end times or armageddon predictions.

just like in in the book 1984 by george orwell the wt society has a way of not only erasing it's history so no newer witnesses will be aware of their false predictions, but also they are re-writing their history as if those false predictions never happened.. so for those of you here who may have never read or heard of how whipped up into an emotional frenzy witnesses were in the years just before 1975 by the wt society claiming the end was any day now- this threads for you.

to see the pressure that was put on jw's by the wt society to get rid of everything before " armageddon " .

Can't belileve I never saw this thread.

My father came in the or in 1967 and met my mom in 1968, she had been baptized 9 years earlier. They toold me that in 68 - 69 is when most of the hype started. They had the first child in 69 the second in 72. My dad related that the brothers actually counselled him on having children this cose to Armageddon. How it showed his lack of faith in the fact the system was suppose to end shortly... So they ceased having anymore kids... He quit his job and started pioneering in 73 and worked part time. They decided to move to seldom - worked territory in the south. As 75 approached he said that the brothers in the hall did exactly as the KM stated. However he said many bought big homes the could not afford and cars as well and blew their savings pbecause they said they will have no need for their money in the new system so they might as well spend it all now.

However they were flat broke and struggling with two kids but felt it didn't matter because shortly it would all be over. He said as the date came and went two brothers he knew commited suicide. No reason as to why but financial issues.

He found himself without enough work for his family. Because they could not afford birth control they ended up having me. not long after. He was already in his mid thirties and had nothing... So he decided to start trying to build himself a career. It was to late. So he was stuck with manual labor jobs never making it past supervisor.

However after the next breath he tells me it wasnt the society's fault... it was the brothers who ran ahead ...

I went to the week long one about a year and a half ago... it was alot of being nice to the friends - but in the next breath there was all the heavy handed crap after the point was made to be nice. Same old shift
