that is about the gist of what this book is.

it is chuck full of bad advice to young people because it is written under the direction of old men who are surrounded by yesmen and ass kissers, who have a delusional relationship with an imagined deity causing them to have all kinds of phobias which are transfered onto those who read this publication uncritically.

phobias about the world being under an evil satanic control, masturbation, school sports, worldy friends, cell phones, internet information, etc.... guilt, shame, and death threats all rolled into one book to bend the young mind into submission to the corporation's interest (free labor).. just what a teenagers needs(sic) a book written by delusional old men who don't give a shit about them and want to take control over their lives for the finacial benefit of the corporation they are ceos of.

Its funny though I remember getting the blue book at convention. Then one day later while looking through I stopped on the part about Masturbation and began reading. As a teenager reading about masturbation made me want to.................... go masturbate.

Outside of the Middle East... did God just hate everyone else?

this is one thing that i just can not seem to resolve in my mind and i want people... in particular diehard christians to please explain something to me.. we have humans on 7 continents for thousands of years before the bible was written and in many places for 2000 years after the bible was written had no concept of christianity at all.

This is one thing that I just can not seem to resolve in my mind and I want people... in particular diehard christians to please explain something to me.

Never hearing of Jesus or reading the book of Revelation. They had sophisticated religious belilefs in many cases - and venerated God or Gods and no doubt these people really wanted to please these dieties. This is not debateable.

This leads to the question then, "Is one really to believe that only the few people in the Middle East are the only ones God cared about for hundreds of years?" Loving Christians believe that the God of the bible who is impartial and loves ALL MANKIND by his own admission only cared about these desert dwelling people?" If he did then that type of favortism negates everything he speaks about in the bible that we read.

All those native american / Africas / Asians /Europeans / Eskimos / Aborigines etc that died prior to coming into contact with the bible were just useless pretty much? This is a concept that I can't seem to grasp.

It infuriates me even more that many Christians have no real answer to this point or they just say that God knows their hearts... seems like something of a copout.

Is it possible that there worship is acceptable to God the wayhe revealed himself to them? Is it possible that almighty God just wants people to show some form of reverence to a higher authority?

Just looking for some opinions

punk I would think the easiest thing to do to avoid any guess work is to just change to another religion... LOL

Afterall if there is a god there is no way that the bible and Middle east / Christian god is the only way of worship that he finds acceptable. Otherwise the entire bible is one giant contradiction

After all God saids in the bible he desires all to live etc... so then the Chinese or Aborigines or Indians were all just throwaway people god didnt care about until thousands of years later and someone brought them the bible to teach them one truth. Buddism sounds fun... or maybe something else - who knows. LOL

lots of proper pioneering (90 hours), lots of calls, lots of studies, lots of interest.

enough to make it all interesting.

driving this buzz was the sense that armageddon was imminent.. my father was never a jw, and was very opposed.

@wizz just 7 months ago I was also in your shoes... I won't act as if I know what will happen next for you but one thing I can say is that as the weeks go by... the many layers of the Watchtower onion begin to peel and you will see the rotten stinking core. Like you I am a 3rd gen. former bethelite / pioneer / elder(just 6 months ago). My entire family all hold "special priveledges" (elders , pios, missionaries, bethelite) and giving up on that "spiritual heritage was painful in that first month of my decision.

However the more you actual look at what the WBTS has done to outright lie to you - it becomes apparent they are not being used by God in any possible way. As a witness we always heard the expression a "perfect organization run by imperfect men" as the excuse for new light or changes etc...

However after about 15 minutes of clear logical thought you realize that is just a copout for the ones at the top to continue to misguide and mislead people. Do yourself a favor and literally take 2 months to do some research on your own without the pressure of family who will continue to call to your mind what you already know. Start with each and every single factor that makes JW's appeal to you and research it thoroughly and without prejudice and you will see that you will be at peace with your decision. Whatever that may be

I hear you punk. Personally I still believe there is a god. But I think he kinda created us and said, "Ok guys, you got like 80 years before your body deteriorates so make the most of it. Go have fun and enjoy!

If there is something more I do not see why he would put us through all these hoops of hoping to find the right people who could tell us exactly what he told them through a huge patchwork of guesses and algorithms.

@watcher your faith in Jehovahs earthly organization is weak because of the fact that you have totally ignored their command to stay away from sites such as these. I am beginning to think you may be a troll of sorts...

I have no idea how a thinking person can have total faith in an organization that has lied to you in PRINT...

If you can have that kind of faith then JW land is perfect for you. If you do not care that the people who are representatives of god can tell you a bold face lie in the magazines you "study" then YOU ARE MISLED. That organization is made for people who do not want to think.

Let me ask, if they came out with an article that said from their understanding of the scriptures you have to wear purple hats every Thursday would you do it?
