He submitted his letter and then after about 2 months he never came back to the kingdom hall. We made a visit on him and some woman came to the door and asked us to please leave

I was on a case in my old hall of a 27 year old guy seeking to be reinstated. He disassociated himself at 13 years of age :(
He said he really had no idea what it meant at the time. He was just very upset that he was getting in trouble with the congo. Neither of his parents were witnesses so they told him to go back to the church and tell them he no longer wanted to be a part of the church (Kingdom Hall) annymore.

SO i mention this to my mother a few minutes ago and I told her they have state of the art touch screen computers and swanky furniture and she says, "Well who paid for all that??? My computer is 8 years old and my furniture is older than you!" I thought I had an opening.. then she followed up with "It's not my business to question the slave... afterall it is all for God's glory"

Outside of the Middle East... did God just hate everyone else?
by sosoconfused inthis is one thing that i just can not seem to resolve in my mind and i want people... in particular diehard christians to please explain something to me.. we have humans on 7 continents for thousands of years before the bible was written and in many places for 2000 years after the bible was written had no concept of christianity at all.
never hearing of jesus or reading the book of revelation.
they had sophisticated religious belilefs in many cases - and venerated god or gods and no doubt these people really wanted to please these dieties.

Amazing and eloquent post. It seems that upon taking an aerial view of life and of a belief in god - we tend to make the situation for to complicated. God has no reason to favor any one group over another. It just doesn't make any sense when you really think about it. Living a good life doing good to other people is what Jesus repeatedly stresses along with many other faiths holy books.
The Samaritan parable... do you think that because he was not an actual JEW there was no favor found? Of course not, The Samaritan was used to show that anyone who follows a certain set of principles is fine with God.

@Theo Sedition - I don't want to derail the thread LOL... but I grew up in North Carolina... very racist area so I am very sensitive about this stuff sometimes.
See My father is from Virginia and his dad was a sharecropper. My dad's mothers mother. Lived in the house with them and she had been a full-fledged slave. My grandmother also worked for next to nothing at the former owners of her mother (VOMIT). Needless to say the term used earlier and any derivation of it that my father heard us use or anyone in his presence ALWAYS ended badly...
In my teens in the early to mid 90's all the kids would throw it around like it was nothing. I mad the mistake one time of saying it where my father could hear it. I was on the porch with friends and he was in the car. He got out the car and slapped the literally spit out of my mouth.
He then proceeded too sit me down and tell me how utterly ignorant I was for defacing myself and my ancestors. You can imagine my shock hearing these words and actions from a generally mild mannered JW elder but this was one thing he was serious about. In hindsight I can see why he hates the word and detests anyone of African descent using it - because he saw what that word really meant to people and the stigma that was tied to it. I still hold on to that as well. Maybe I should let it go... but I can't
