i am wondering how many jw's stay in a marriage because they have to?
i mean i know there are happy marriages out there (somewhere i am sure), but i have run across several jw wives who are just waiting on their significant other to commet "the act" so they can divorce them and move on with their lives.. divorce has become less of a taboo thing in the org, but it is still frowned upon and people that do divorce, even on the scriptural grounds, are somewhat stigmatized.
so i guess my question is what do you think the divorce rate would be if jw's could get divorced for any grounds with no repercussions?
My mum has been so influenced by the policy of no divorcing unless adultery is committed, she doesn't even think dad qualified as an adulterer. Even though he gave her the clap on several occassions and g.warts....he even had a girlfriend he used to take me to visit! And yet, 14 years later, my mum still thinks she didn't have grounds and shouldn't have divorced him cause everyone talks about her...and now she'll never find anyone to marry.
I could literally slap her sometimes.......I just remind her what it was like living with dad and she seems to calm down...momentarily until marriage is mentioned at the meetings.....and then the whole sorry situation starts over....

the simple answer is no.. so many witnesses are blind to this obvious point , and still believe god will bring judgemnet to all mankind on the basis of the preaching done by jehovahs witnesses.. realise this jehovahs witnesses,.

They spoke about this at the meeting the other night...the elder said that the g.b said that jw's won't reach EVYERYONE as stated in the bible - I think in Isaiah, dunno, that by no means would the circuit of Jerusalem be covered before the end....something to that effect....so we just have to trust Jah, he will read their hearts and see whether they are honesthearted or not....

i was thinking today that many of us ex-dubs are fairly capable of holding our own when conversing with an active witness about anything jw related.
if we dont have an immediate answer, it isnt difficult to find a ex-jw website that has a lot of good information we could use for finding an answer fairly quickly.
having said this though, i think there are some questions that a jw could ask you that might be a lot tougher to answer, websites or not.
