  What are the titles of the Congregation Elders?

  what are the titles currently being usined for the congregational elders?.

  "presiding overseer" was one title that was used for a long time, but i know that was changed awhile ago.. are they even called "overseers" anymore?.

  what was the reason for the change?.

  Is the congregation's Accounts Servant an elder or a MS, or perhaps just a brother that is qualified to handle such things?

  i've finally get my hands on a pdf of one of the two newly released brochures, this one entitled "who are doing jehovah's will today?".

  predictably, the brochure is extremely vague on key topics.

  So according to JW thinking the following identity is not used becuase it gives the wrong impression:

  "leaders" = "those who take the lead"

  Although they admit there is nothing wrong grammatically with identifying "leaders" with the phrase "those taking the lead", the word "leaders" implies following men, which the JWs like to pretend they are not doing.

  According to the JW mindset, the word "managers" is substituted for the word "leaders" or for "those taking the lead."

  The elders in the congregations are "Watchtower Managers" taking direction from the FDS (according to the Organizational Chart).

  In the past, elders were even called "Overseers"(*), but the use of that word within the congregation was stopped several years ago.

  SC: "Our leaders” gives the impression that they are on a separate level or even a higher level. When you say “Those taking the lead among you” they don’t sound separate because they are “among us”. Even those of the faithful discreet slave who have a heavenly hope, and the governing body members are still referred to as “our brothers.” Not leader, master, ruler, etc. Amongst Jehovah’s Witnesses, it would sound a little strange if you referred to them in that way"

  OK, how would SC explain this Organizational Chart published in the Watchtower?

  Looks to me like there are many "separate levels" with some "higher" than others.

  I read "leaders", "leaders", and "leaders."

  What is the SC trying to pull off here?

  This brochure is like reading a summary of the book, "Bearing Thorough Witness About God's Kingdom"

  Is that book available for downloading?

  It would be interesting to compare it with the brochure.

  in my area we often alert fellow drivers of speed traps by flashing our lights.
