Were Russell's Associates Who Went To Prison Considered Faithful To The End
by minimus inthe watchtower regularly states that russell and his associates were truth seekers and that god considered them faithful watchmen, anxious to see the fulfillment of bible prophecies in the time of the end......my question is----did these folks (according to watchtower requirements) remain "faithful" or did they deviate from the "truth"?
if a number did not remain faithful, wouldn't this obviously show that the watchtower was once again purposely misleading people into believing that russell's group was used by jehovah to enlighten his people???

RR,
Do you know what happened to William Hudgings? He testified in the sedition trial agains Rutherford et al. Hudgings was held in contempt of court because they didn't like the way he testified, something about recognizing (or not) someone's signature.
William Hudgings is interesting because he was the only person to have his book, on Einstein's Theory of Relativity, advertised in a Watchtower Publication!

7. G. H. Fisher - He left and was about to sue Rutherford and the Society, claimed he had proof of the illegal takeover, unfortunately, he died in 1925
Didn't G.H. Fisher also have evidence, or knew of witnesses, to Rutherford's attending the burelesque show, "Artists and Models"? Again, just before charges could be presented against Rutherford, Fisher died. How convienent for Rutherford!
Because he turned against Rutherford, future printings of "The Finished Mystery" (like the 1926 "boxed" edition) had the parts Fisher wrote removed! Talk about becoming a non-person!

"He also refrains from being mean-spirited." This is the good thing about Ray Franz's book. The author of the book "30 Years a Watchtower Slave", while not printing anything erroneous as far as I know, did not make any attempt to hide his anger towards the Watchtower, and that detracted from the book. --VM44

Did GB Member Carl Klien gloat over Dulaps Demise??
by frankiespeakin ini'm sure we all who have read "crisis of conscience" by ray franz must have wondered if governing body member carl klein had it in for ed dunlap.
it sure seems like he was a manipulator,,he was even censored by the gb for it,, in reference to ed dunlap and even told to leave him alone.
i think we should think about it,, for a moment,, and think about how much it must have stuck in his craw,, for being censored.. .

Thanks Farkel. I will get a copy.
Back to The Messenger text
They have been told, in so far as they can understand, that they may expect these noble men and, when they do appear, to meet them and put themselves completely under their direction. It might be that this little prince and princess would be stenographers or office children or clerks about the place, or perform some other duty that will be necessary in the Kingdom.
It is hard to understand how a considerable group of people would buy into this fantasy. How could the writer write this with a straight face? Especially, when the house was constructed for the exclusive use of RUTHERFORD! This was stated in the same Golden Age article in which the Beth Sarim deed was published. It was EVEN stated there that Rutherford would not accept the house for his use unless he could find some "Biblical" reason for it, hence the "cover story" was created of it being build for the faithful men of old. With that story in place, Rutherford happily accepted the house for his own use.
And the people back then also went along happily with Rutherford using the house, and the "faithful men of old" fantasy was used by them to justify their self delusion. It is amazing what a group of people will go along with in order to stay within the group, and prevent being ostracized from it. Somewhere there must be a sociological study on this behavior.
One does not need much of an imagination to know what would happen to any Witness back then if they criticized the existence of Rutherford's use of the house. Hence they all go along promoting a stupid fantasy! It really is an embarrasement!
--VM44
P.S. It has been mentioned that some JWs when asked about Beth Sarim get a little nervous and do not want to talk about it. I lived in San Diego for 14 years and no Witness ever mentioned that house to me. Again, It is indeed an embarrasement to the JWs, both then and now.

Regarding people close to Rutherford calling him "Pappy".
I wonder if his son, Malcolm, ever called him by that name?
More and more it is apparent that Rutherford considered himself some sort of Patriarch over the Watchtower Organization.
