in the latest october 15th 2012 watchtower (page 13).... "because of what they perceive as defects in the elders, some individuals who engage in serious wrongdoing in the congregation have refused to appear before a committee of elders assigned to help them.
this could be likened to a patient who loses out on the benefits of a treatment because he does not like something about the doctor.".
sounds like they're now trying to stigmatize those who try to avoid judical action.
The "elders" are congregational managers appointed by The Watchtower Corporation.
The name change to "Christian Congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses" does not change the fact that The Watchtower controls the operation of the congregations.
this book contains a chapter on the subject of vat 4956 that is written by rolf furuli.. http://www.gersam.de/neuheiten_2/artifacts/artifacts.html.

Hi Ann,
Thank you, yes, I would like to get the article from the 'Research-Bible-Artifacts' book.

I believe this was once source that The Watchtower used when writing the material about VAT 4956 last November.
does the watchtower give or create community, and take or steal faith and salvation?.
This thread has to be brought back to give attention to this very true statement that correctly describes The Watchtower.
W. Stevenson summed it up concisely in his 1975 - Year of Doom? "No other religious group demands so much from its members, in return for so little."
The Watchtower is a cultist con that takes advantage of the people!
i definitely support science, i think that the entire field is fascinating.
the things that have been discovered and that will be discovered in the future is mind-boggling.
i do wonder, however, if there is some things that science can't explain.

A look at some of the flawed thinking that prompts people who believe in certain non-scientific concepts to advise others who don't to be more open-minded.

"But I wonder if there really are spirit entities (or something else we don't quite understand) that are also in existence and can sometimes make their presence known."
The Higgs Boson!
watchtower on kingdom centennial birthday?.
today i uploaded a new article to my blog addressing the gigantic birthday party the watchtower organization held for itself in 1984, and it wonders whether it will show the same courtesy to the birth of gods heavenly kingdom in 1914?
my article is titled watchtower on kingdom centennial birthday?
"All of these were provided with copies of a colorful 32-page brochure-style program as a memento of the happy event."
"Happy event"? Sounds very much indeed like a birthday celebration.
"Happy Centennial to you! Happy Centennial to you! Happy Centennial Dear Watchtower Corporation, Happy Centennial to you!"
Does anyone have a scan of that 32-page brochure?
for those who don't care to listen to the talk but would like to know what was said ... here ya go .... .
avoid testing god in your heart.
imagine the ancient israelites as they were slaves in egypt, under an oppressive pharaoh.. god brought nine plagues on egypt and then announced a tenth; the firstborn would be struck down.. can you imagine the cry that went out in egypt when the firstborn died, including pharaoh's own son?.
"For instance: How do we feel when there is counsel or direction on how we should view higher education? Jehovah's Organization is very clear on this subject, but have we taken a stand, like the world around us, and, reasoned in our minds that that's the only way that we can have a secure future, even if I have to sacrifice my spirituality, higher education is really the way to go?"
The Watchtower has paid for Bethelites to attend college and receive degrees in engineering and law.
Rob Pollock is the name of one such individual, and when he was attending college classes it is said that he often missed meetings.
The Watchtower really does not have the freedom to speak against higher education when it has sent some to partake of it.
apologies if there is another recent thread on this, but i have heard from 4 different people in 3 different geographic areas (including someone who does advance work for the dcs), that beginning in 2013 the three day dc program will be replaced by a second two-day circuit assembly.
some people were passing the info along like a secret, others seemed to think that everyone already knew.. if everyone in j-dub land is already talking about this, how is it not all over this forum??.
anyway, can anyone confirm or deny?.
Two day conventions?
Remember the SEVEN-DAY conventions?
They lasted from 9am to 9pm.
To attend was a test of endurance!
