    Watchtower on Kingdom Centennial Birthday?

Today I uploaded a new article to my blog addressing the gigantic birthday party the Watchtower organization held for itself in 1984, and it wonders whether it will show the same courtesy to “the birth of God’s heavenly Kingdom in 1914”?

My article is titled Watchtower on Kingdom Centennial Birthday? and is available at: http://marvinshilmer.blogspot.com/2012/07/watchtower-on-kingdom-centennial.html

I was there - I remember it was at Three Rivers Stadium in Pittsburgh. All of the top dogs were there and gave talks.

I imagine it was held in Pittsburgh because that was where the WTS was incorporated.

So where do you hold a birthday celebration for an invisible king?

Centennial - Definition and More from the Free Merriam ...

Definition of CENTENNIAL: a 100th anniversary or its celebration — centennial adjective — cen·ten·ni·al·ly \-?-le\ adverb.

    That's the WTS for ya,

The begining of the WTS can be commemorated and celebrated, but the life of a human cannot

The WTS clearly celebrated wit a gatherin'

Thank you Marvin Keep up the great work you do exposin' this cult

I remember that - one of the elders in my congregation was invited.

2014 I think will pass without any spotlight from the WTS.

Lol. All I have to say about that is:

"A good name is better than fine perfume, and the day of death better than the day of birth."

Surely, The End will be here before that.

At least they are counting on that.

    -

“Surely, The End will be here before that.”

Surely that was what they were counting on in 1984. But now the time is upon Watchtower to plan for the centennial of God’s Kingdom born in 1914 (according to Watchtower doctrine).

    What will Watchtower do?

    1. Invent new light on birthday celebrations?

    2. Hold a celebration of the birth of God’s Kingdom and call it an anniversary celebration?

    3. Completely ignore it?

Every one of those scenarios presents embarrassing consequences for Watchtower.

I think that the 1984 shindig passed us by , in the U K. I do not remember anything about it - i have never heard of it before.

There was a special WT edition July 1st 1979, celebrating the centennial ( 100th birthday!) of the WT mag. Here is the cover:
