The life differences between a good christian and good athiest
by EndofMysteries inlet's compare a christian who goes to a non judgemental / non guilt trip church which focuses really on the gospels, jesus teachings on being non judgemental, anything out of love there is no law against, and they contribute to society.
then an athiest who if you put side by side w/ the above christian, you would not know any difference unless you asked their beliefs.
both are good people, who are able to lead lives doing what they want, enjoying their life, and trying to help their neighbors too.

Not getting a "do over" makes me appreciate life more now. I don't trust that god will save the planet, I get off my ass and help. I don't trust that god can help feed the poor, I donate money and time.
Really this is another huge subject that can't be covered in little replies. But, I hope to die with my family and grand kids and being loved after living a full life. You guys seem to forget we HAD your SAME hope. We know it. It's not that we haven't experienced it. It's that we consciously decided we did not need it.

You know when your watching a political debate and the moderator asks a tough question and the politician says, "Well, let's talk about the real issue here. The real issue is education and healthcare in this country need to be reformed". And you are screaming at the tv to answer the damn question? That's what this reminds me of.

lol fade. So does the Insignt book give a date for the Egyptian dynasty or pyramids? If so, it seems like it could wake up a relative of mine to see that chart and compare it to the dates in the Insight book?

Agree WMF. I happen to think late term abortions are like murder. But, to say that from conception and being two or four cells is the same as late term is just illogical and ignorant.

by kneehighmiah inmany friends i've spoken with are becoming discouraged.
because of this it's becoming tempting to privately share my views with friends, but i know this is still too dangerous.
most witnesses in my circle are intelligent free thinkers.

to do a quick summary i was df'd at 19, got into the party lifestyle which included party drugs and lots of alcohol.
at 24 i decided to step bacdk and really try to get my life in order.

You need to try to see a counselor or therapist. You need help getting over the guilt with who you are. It's just who you are. And it's okay. You can be gay and normal and happy. First things first. Join a local group that supports gay people coming out and struggling. You will meet new friends there. Stay clean.
I would see if there is a narcotics anonymous for gays in your area. I bet there is. I'll google search it and post it back. I know alc and narc anon are almost like a religion. The structure would probably help you.
