  Sighhhhhhhh, the Draw Close to Jehovah book again for the Congregation Bible Study.

  check out this gem from the dec 2013 km which explains why it's good to over this book a second go round.. "congregations previously considered this book during 2004 and 2005. however,for many of the approximately two million publishers who have come into the truth since then,this will be the first time that jehovahs endearing qualities have been discussed in detail.for those who studied the book before, the review will help them to deepen their appreciation forjehovahs attributes.ps.119:14".

  i gotta kick out of this because i can only think of maybe two or three new ones in our congregation who weren't present when this book was first studied.

  at the same time, going over jehovah's qualities isn't something new.

  Raised On the Third Day?

  i have some potentially controversial questions.. i have always wondered about these things in the back of my mind, but i would immediately dismiss them.

  now i am giving myself permission to explore them further.... a lot of attention is given to how big the sacrifice was on the part of jesus and god when jesus laid down his life.

  as the story goes, jesus gave his life for our sins and then was miraculously raised back to life a couple of days later.. consider this.

  "I need to prove that my way is best! I will let man try to govern themselves."

  demons come to earth and mate with girls and god doesn't stop it, but he does kill untold millions in a flood afterward because of it

  "I will continue to prove that humans can't rule themselves."

  People start making a city and god mixes up all their languages and scatters them across the globe, thereby creating nations and cultural differences and racism and war

  "See after 6,000 years people can't rule themselves. Now, I will destroy billions and leave only those who want to love me."

  Billions of humans die but again Satan doesn't. He is abyssed and then let back out so more humans can die.

  Did you think Dinosaurs were destroyed in the Flood?

  in our jw bible, they placed a friendly dinosaur on the inside front cover on the old time map of the middle east.. you look at that, and see where the placement to where the garden of eden is and that was the image i got in my mind.

  dinosaurs lived, but were too big to save in the flood, and besides they had outlived their purpose of fertilizing the earth.

  i feel stupid for the thinking i had when i was 'in'.. is that how you 'thought' when you were 'in'?.

  I think if there was a god, he wouldn't care what religion you were as long as you were a good person. Which is why I can't believe the bible anymore. It's full of genocide. And are you telling me that I'm lucky since I'm born in the US but those poor saps born in India.... Well they have to die. Soon eight billion will die because they were busy mowing their lawn or at soccer practice when a five year old came to their door with a magazine. Right.

  does anyone know why people say as jws you can't have guns.

  i've asked people at the hall and they say jws aren't supposed to have guns.

  i asked them why, and they all say just because we're not supposed to.

  As a JW I knew they lived and died millions of years ago. Not sure how some dubs believe this idiocy. I was taught the creation periods were indeterminate amounts of time and the earth was very very old. I can't believe that article from the seventies Blondy quoted. Wow.

  Welcome! Happy you joined and said hi. You are wise to do your schooling. My children will without a doubt. I don't know how some parents sit thru lessons like today and know they will get their kids schooling. As a JW I couldn't sit thru lessons like today and know I was going to disobey. Strange religion. I know for a fact a few in the hall have plans to get their kids schooling After high school. How you can comment and listen to that and still do your own thing is beyond me.

  Great points. You are using critical thinking skills! Here is one for you ttattelder - Universal sovereignty will be answered because man hasn't ruled himself successfully... EXCEPT man never was given a fair chance. He has had demonic influence the entire time. God intervening, and demons mating with humans, god confusing languages, demons ruling nations and causing wars. At BEST the only question answered is that satan couldn't do it better than god. Man STILL has not had a chance. So NO it has not been answered for us or for heaven On whether or not MAN can rule themselves.
