  Is this new donation arrangement for real?

  just read a post on jwsurvey about the new donation arrangement.

  congregations are to pledge a monthly amount to be sent to the society to fund the building of assembly halls and kingdom halls.

  congregations who already have a loan from the society will no longer have to pay back the loan but the amount pledged should not be less than the current monthly repayments to the society.

  all - so my wife told me she was going to the kh yesrterday.

  it has been a couple of months so i was a bit disappointed but i sucked it in.

  i thought about it for a while and when we had a quiet moment together i said to her: "i know you need to make an appearance every once in a while to avoid the risk of being asked to da yourself and being shunned.

  good job! I think in that situation, you handled it as best it could be. I wonder if she is aware of what love bombing is? Weak and infrequent members always get lots of it. Would dropping her off and picking her up to take to her lunch afterwards help? That way you could get her right after without tons of socializing and lunch rece tee her with you and child?

  mystical jewish kabala, islam, christianity etc.. saying a certain name or specific verse, or writing certain words, are said to change the outcome of events and heal or inflict tragedy.

  speaking in tongues falls into this genre as well.. the sixth and seventh books of moses, used in hoodoo and voodoo, portray moses as the greatest of spell weavers with magical powers to turn a cane into a snake for instance.

  Did Noah know GODS name?

  i know it's hollywood the noah movie- but they refered to god as "the creator" through the entire movie.

  director said he did careful research for the movie with what he could find including the book of enoch.. wt of course says he did especial in gen.9:26.. any thoughts?.

  the watchtower claims this is why armageddon hasn't come yet....apparently ol' j-man is showing how awful man is at governing himself.

  Even if they had tried all forms of government the argument falls flat. Why? Because according to WT the devil and demons are actively involved in the political affairs of the world. Demons fight over countries resulting in wars between people, demons influence people... So, NO! Mankind has not had a fair chance to rule themsleves by the way WT says they have.

  Demons would have to leave mankind alone and remove all spirit influence then humans would need a chance to try to rule themselves. As it stands with WT theology, anyone could say after Satans abyssing that humans could do it on their own. And according to Universal Sovereignty that would then need to be answered.

  so thats the bible story anyway, what about reality.

  in my limited research of ancient history its come to my attention that the main language written and spoken was akad or akkadian.

  The recent WT article said the Tower of Babel was built 100 years after the flood. So, Noah and his sons were HORRIBLE parents and teachers. They couldn't explain the importance of listening to god well enough to help their kids and grand kids.

  And isn't it amazing that so few people built Babel?

  First post after a year or two of lurking on this site-Sorry for the length!

  not sure of the point of telling my story, but just got off the phone with my grandma and i am so angry, stressed and i don't know what else...i guess i just wanted to hear from someone other than my husband that i'm not crazy for my reaction to family interaction.. my condensed story gramatical errors and all :).

  father was a born in jw, mother was a convert.

  i was born the last of 3 siblings and shortly after my birth in 1981 my parents divorced.

  Welcome! I'm so sorry for what you went through. I'd like to put Uncle-dad's nuts in a meat grinder.

  JWs are warped in the head. If Jehovahhhhhh has forgiven uncle-dad then so should you in their minds. So stupid. Plus old people and especially older moms need their kids so much, grandma probably just has already mentally sanitized her son, so she doesn't get why you still the way you do. And you should feel that way! I wouldn't ever want to be near that pervert again.

  I hope you post more and get some refreshing discussion from others.
