Nope. But I want to go into a Catholic Church and check it out. It looks interesting to me. Oldest Christian religion. The stained glass and statues. Now that I know it isn't demonized I want to check it out.

If there was a charity or caregiver for Ray's widow I'd donate money in a heartbeat.

Why does god kill children?
by Comatose ini was thinking about all the accounts in the bible that indicate god kills children as a punishment or teaching experience.
1. kills all of egypts firstborn sons, who were innocent kids who did nothing to him or his people, who had no control over the decisions pharoah made.
how many times have you read that account or thought about it without realizing the devastating pain dealt to all those parents, and remembered those were innocent kids?.

Tammy I don't see Jesus out walking the earth right now. I haven't heard of any broadcasts he has made.
So if we don't need the bible anymore then how are you hearing him? Do you understand most people in the world and most people in your church do not hear Christ? They don't see a living Christ.

Newly wed UBM and soon to meet JW in-laws
by UBM101 ini have been lurking here for a couple of years.
my hubby (inactive & some doubts) and i were just married and i'll be going to his place to meet his family (pretty much dubs).
they seem to be friendly and excited to meet me, and i kind of had agreed to attend the kingdumb hall meeting once (in my life time, yep, that's the agreement) and also meeting an elder who brain-washed my hubby during his teen.

Welcome to the board! :)
I agree with jgnat totally. I wouldn't play along with them and give them false hopes. I'd ask if they really wanted to know. Great idea.

No problem. I had a real fullblown panick attack reading it. Started feeling claustrophobic and couldn't breathe. You seem to be farther along than I was though when I read it. It's a good book. I wish he was still alive as I'd like to thank him and meet him.

intel on warwick project
by stuckinamovement inthe committee assigned to build the new complex was called into a meeting with the governing body.
they were told " you finish this project by january 1 2017. we want the keys to the complex and will be headquartered there by that date, do you understand?".
when the brothers protested and said that it would take 6 years for the project to be complete and if they moved that fast there would be many mistakes, the gb responded, "we don't care, that is your deadline".

I missed the whole Warwick thing till now. Interesting. Why would they care? Why would they bother selling and building unless they thought they had time? So I guess someone should tell my parents that they have at least three yrs and the end isn't as close as the DC indicated.

Experience at a get together recently
by CaptainSchmideo inevery so often, i will get invites to social gatherings from people from my old congregation (not the one i currently attend).
recently, it was for a high school graduation of the son of people i grew up with.. so, a curious thing happens (and happens every time i go to one of these things).. the old timers start quizzing me about my mom (who hasn't gone to meetings in years) and my brother (who has spotty attendance, apparently), and they assume that i am still attending regularly (i don't volunteer anything different).. .
i really resent being interrogated about my family members, it's like i am volunteering information to "big brother".
