Theocratic Ministry School Review night?

how can i tell without even looking at the schedule that it is time for the review?

my wife decides she is not going to the meeting.

she told me earlier this week we had an invitation for dinner/drinks with one of our neighbors down the street.

The school overseer used to say things to commenters like "Wow, that was almost word for word exactly what I have! I don't even have to add anything. I don't know how you did that!" He never figured out that half the hall had the official answers somehow. Haha.

back when i was preaching that this generation of 1914 would by no means pass away, that they were all very old, having been old enough in 1914 to understand the significance of the events of that year...it was just me running ahead.

i made it all up!

Funny demon conversation

minimus inspired me to recall a crazy conversation i had with a houseguest at my home while i was one of jw's and even serving.

i had a houseguest say that she couldn't sleep all night, and then she found a birthday card in her friends room that someone at work gave her innocently enough.

she burned it and said she could finally sleep.. i asked her if she knew how long ago her friends birthday was?

You can't really. It's why the witnesses are very smart to stress not letting a personal problem interfere with your worship of god (or meetings, service, and the like). They are actually correct in that once you stop thinking its all a test and you can't give in, then you realize it's all just BS.

The "test of faith" works exceedingly well to keep people in line and ignore the obvious flaws.

Its also another reason why JWs can't see the problems with child abuse, or elders not acting with Holy Spirit. You can't show them this stuff. They have to reach a point they can see it on their own.

But, back to topic, I read the transcript. It was strange how two of them let themselves be steered and thwarted by elder 1.

its the JWs who would probably go with 2. And why would the HS allow this? It's a test. The standard answer when logic fails.

Not an apologist but the JWs I know would say its a test. That the scriptures foretell that there would be wolves in sheeps clothing.

I don't agree, but that's what I'd expect to hear.
